I bought some fog lights a while ago and have never got around to putting them in, not sure whether to put them in now. Shall i put them in or leave them off? Was planning on fitting strobes into them?

Ahh right. I'd fit em if I was you, looks better than standard. But you'd need new wiper stalks (ones with fog light switches) and you'd need the wiring loom as well. You could probs buy a bumper with fogs fitted that Comes with a loom then you'd only need the stalk.

When I looked into doing this before I did a little research and took the car apart, found thats the 'eastcoast' model has the loom that sits behind the P/S headlight and comes out by the steering wheel. God knows why citreon just didnt fit the fogs?

tomsmarty

But yeah will need the stalk, thanks for the advice by the way :)

Haha typical lol. Then yeah, if I was you I'd definitely fit em, cos Aslong as you cut the bumper well then wouldn't take too much time to fit em.

Yeah wont take long as the eastcoast bumper also has the bolt holes for the fog brackets to go into aswell lol. Cheers mate :)

Spraying the inserts of the fogs before I fit them, do I need to use primer or will it be ok just spraying the black spray straight on?

Fit them :y:

Primer first if you like - if you spray well then you probably couldn't tell the difference without the primer though - I don't bother and I'm no expert sprayer but the finished effect is fine IMO.

Recon im gonna give it a go without primer :) Thanks for the help will get pictures on once iv done spraying on my progress thread http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=356101

No point me making a new thread to ask this so I will add it onto here.

Fitting fogs into my saxo, going to need to get the stalk for the wiring loom to plug into. Had a look on ebay and they are £55+ postage at the cheapest! Was wondering if anyone knew a way of wiring it to a spare button on the dash like the hazard one?

Is it actually possible? Thanks Tom..............

Where does the wiring go to from the fogs? Is there an inline relay of a fuse in the fuse box where the wiring goes to that will need to be put in?
The bulbs work dont they ;)

Are you putting the fog lights on when the sidelights/headlamps are on?
If so when you turn them on is there power to the contacts in the fuse box?

tomsmarty

Would have to find where the fog loom comes out to be able to do that. Havent got a clue where the fog loom goes from behind the headlight.

tomsmarty
5th February 2011, 17:15
I have the loom but it's going to be hard following it all the way behind the dash, don't want them connected to the full beam tbh as if it gets that foggy I need the fogs on I won't want my full beam on as the fog will dassle
