ok need some wishbones for the Sax, My dad works for TMS motor spares n he usually get me really good discounts on my stuff. I got a price for 2 lower arms and to average joe they 70 quid a piece but he can get me them both for £105.
Thinkin thats still pricey I had a look on eBay and found a pair delivered is some what cheaper but I was wondering how the quality of these would be as I know eBay jobbys arnt usually up to standards. Ill be changing the bushes on these also.
As for the bushes in the bottom arms, if I buy new poly bushes for them, do they have to be pressed in on can I do it myself?
Also whats the best bushes to go for on the front? I really like my driving and i do like to razz about, Track bound also this summer. Dont want the car to be over kill though as my trip to work is a back road and its not the most decent of roads, alwasy careful ovcourse :y:

i also fitted the powerflex arb bushes

made the car feel very nice and tight, and i fitted them myself they just push in, its just a horrible job getting the old ones out lol
with the wishbones, make sure you arent looking at the 1.1/1.4 wishbones, £105 is a good price for vt wishbones, off the top of my head i would have said they are £60 a pop

all the bushes in my wishbones are on the way out,
i found the vts ones on ebay at £70 too,
when you say change the bushes do you mean just throw the ones that come with it away and fit polybushes?

yea the bushes must wear down quicker in the cheaper ones
are you only replacing your wishbones because of the bushes?

yea get rid of the usless crap rubber and go for a set of polyrace or powerflex items and they'll last ages longer

ebay for ball joints

and they would need doing by a garage but if you took the wishbone off your self and just gave the garage the wishbone it wouldn't take them long to push the old one out and press the new one in, and you can fit the bushes your self, but it took me agessssssssssss and lost all the skin on my hands doing it lol so if the garage is doing the ball joints might as well get them to do the bushes as well

Any prices on labour for a garage to press out old bushes and new ones in? Mine are knackered, know how to change wishbones but don't have a press handy and if its cheap enough I'm gonna just get a garage to do it!

i cant see a garage taking more than half hour to do it, must only take a couple minutes to do it, i would expect they would charge you half hour labour which would be about £20, most garage going rates are 35+vat which atm is £42 an hour
