well to get rid of the recess you weld in plastic in the recess, only get a professional to do it though, also you need to cut the top bit of the recess of to as it sticks up and isnt flush with the bumper

tbh id leave all bodywork to the pros, i had a go at smoothing my fogs on my front bumper and my exhaust recess on my rear bumper, but i didnt plastic weld any of it so it was just going to crack so i just got it done professionally, by all means get some tatty bumpers from scrappy and give it a go

this is what my 306 looked like after id had it done, and yep it was cracking but a caot of flexi filler sorted that
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y162/swampys16/fcs07/fcs07009.jpg
and my front number plate
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y162/swampys16/fcs07/fcs07013.jpg
i did also have a standered size plate, which i had bracket made up for, basicaly got one of those number plate surrounds, drilled four holes in and screws it threw to some strips of steel, the steel then had bend on it which sat under the bottom of the bumper and was screwed in to the bottom of the bumper
so at shows etc it was four screws to give the front the clean look
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y162/swampys16/odds/S4020497.jpg
and with the standered plate in place

other areas smoothed included the locks and the wing repeaters

had a word with the local bodyshop lad to me and he says he would plastic weld an old number plate to the recess and fibre filler the rest then filler then stopper over the top then (for the people who say it will crack,,,, he says he would re-enforce the back with other old bumper plastic welded to the backing to thicken the bumper, i.e making it less likely to flex hope it helps and btw plastic welding is very very easy!!! just need a soldering iron and a steady hand and lots of patients hope it helps josh
