I've got a VTS and I'm considering lowering it 30mm. I'm doing it for handling mostly and a bit for looks.

Has anyone got any pictures of a VTS lowered that much, and would it be ok using the stock shocks on that drop?

I've just done another search and found some pictures so sorry about that, still wondering whether I need to replace the shocks though.

30mm is definitely the height Il go for.

Its always advisable, but not totally neccesary.

30mm will be fine with just the springs.

Yeh it would be fine 30mm with O/E dampers

But if your going for handling, just go for everything else, the Apex 35mm lowering kit from Kam racing is perfect for what your after buddy :y:

couldn't of put it better my self ^^^

also a set of harder arb/wishbone bushes makes the car feel much stiffer,

upgraded shocks/bushes also reduces braking distance

Cool the kamracing site looks good, its worth saving the pennies and doing it properly then.

I need some new bushes anyway because the fronts are clonking a bit so I'l do that first.

Just found these on ebay,

Cant beat a bilstein right!

those bilsteins are just oem spec (B4), the yellow shocks such as B8's are the ones made for lowering springs, i know the ad says they are suitable for lowering springs but i dont think thats right

these are the ones in the ebay add and these are to replace standard shocks only
http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-suspension/individual-shock-absorbers/citroen-saxo-bilstein-b4-front-insert.html
as you can see the add for the B8's state they are for lowered ride heights 25mm or more
http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-suspension/individual-shock-absorbers/citroen-saxo-bilstein-b8-front-insert.html

the B4's are for standard replacement only, the b6's are uprated shocks but again at standard reide height, and b8's are uprated and SHORTENED for lowering springs

but b8's are pretty expensive so id stick to the apex kit
http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-suspension/suspension-kits/apex-sports-suspension-kit-citroen-saxo-35mm.html
i know they are sold out but someone else will be selling them

for a shock to be suitable for lowering springs they need to be shortened otherwise they will wear out just as much as standard shocks

hope this helps :y:
