not my style of bike but good luck with your test, ive had two kwacka's now, i know theyre not everyones favourite bike but ive had some fun with mine!

im on my second Zx6R now and love it, had a brief spell of borrowing a mates R1 last summer while he was away traveling, and as nice as it was you just cant throw it about like you can with a 600! but it didnt half shift!!!!!

heres mine,

old one,

Personally I think it looks a bit shit, if I was going to go for a cheap insurance first bike I'd get something like a Hornet or a Fazer, the naked versions. They just dont date, whereas that just looks really old.

Then when insurance is down a bit, something like a K4 GSXR 750

This is my old one, which i sold last year somepoint, contemplating on getting another - drove it in snow/frost, everything as i only had the bike license, nothing will beat the addrenaline of a bike especially when you goto crash one, the feeling is just.. amazing!

Being honest mate, dont get the ninja 250 :P go for something a little bigger i.e an NC-30 (even though its older) as trust me - the ninja is like a 125 and is just ballocks, and the nc30 has a longer gearbox for the power you will run, so more economical, and when you need the power - its there ;) and also if your a showboater like most of us, easier to wheelie :fcuk:

The ninja i posted abouve i used to own, miss that thing, used to backfire when changing gear when pinning it, sounded great too, have a few video clips of me on it which you hear it backfiring constantly when the throttle is pinned and then easing off :zainy:

agreed with above about the ninja 250. to OP, the bike sounds nice wanna see some pics of it. you wont regret doing your full test. not long done mine and its so nice to get rid of the L's lol. Good luck with it mate.

P.S. anyone else think there should be a motorbike section on the forum?? jus a thought as there seems to be quite a few bikers on here.

Ninja 250 are utter toss, wouldnt entertain one even as a commuter.

Old ZZR are riddled with problems now, suprised there are still some on the road! Think one of the first ever geared bikes I rode was a zzr600 when I was about 13, Proper death trap too! IMO you should sell it on, and get either a hornet or cbr600f.

Welcome to the biker club "saxowebby" - good luck with your tests.

Nice choice for a 1st sports bike - you'll enjoy the lightness of the 600 until you get bored and can afford the insurance on bigger toys - I've 5 in the garage at the moment and planning on at least another 2 this year (I'm not very good at selling my toys..lol)

i would have the two years under 33hp,:n:
only started looking last night apaz its the best for the 33hp limit, other options ive heard about are;
Hyosung GT250R
Yamaha WR250X

great bike mate. wouldnt bother with a fazer there for gays and old people. the zx is a great bike and very quick. you probs wont like it restricted tho.. i went from an aerox50 at 16 to a rs50 (still 16) passed my test the week after my 17th bday and bought my gsxr 600 k2 had it restricted for about a week and i thought my rs pulled better so decided it was tank off time and take em out. theres not a feeling like it when you accelerate on one. you see lots of cars that will do 0-60 in 5 secs or whatever because of how there geared then after that there slow. 82mph in 1st gear and is still jumping in 5mph's from 140+

Mate, dosent need to be a bike with 33BHP standard

You can have a hyabusa if you have the cash and get it restricted to 33bhp VIA ECU or by washers in the fueling system/throttle ;)
