ok, maybe i am paranoid... but... here goes.

my next door neighbour was banging on my door last night at midnight... so i answered it like "WTF"

she said "did you just see that?"

i was like... "see what? what you talking about?"

basically a silver skoda/saab (see doesnt know which, damned girls) pulled up... a black guy got out and started taking pictures of my car from every angle, then walked to hers and started taking pics of hers.

now she lives on her own and has a child so she was obviously scared and didnt stop him. when he drove off she came to my house.

she also said that the night previously the same car pulled up and 3 black guys got out and was checking my car out, looking through windows, underneath, at my wheels, and shit...

WTF's that about.

all i can think is its gettin had off.

its not the nicest of area's and if it got nicked it wouldnt be the 1st in the area.

but what do i do now?

see, if i was a car theif, then my street would be perfect. theres only 3 houses on it, its dark, and theres a factory and alot of industrial yards at the end of the street. no1 goes down my street unless your going to one of the houses or your up to no good.

My brother's unit kept getting broken into so we installed cameras and microphones there.
Turns out they were the most retarded car theives around and couldn't work out how to hook the battery's up on the cars, one couldn't pop the bonnet on a mk2 escort and they couldn't kick start the motorbikes and left. Did this 4 times before they finally gave up.

They didn't actually think to pick up the bike and work it out later!!

Microphone was useful as it let us hear what they were saying and what they were trying to do.

Three bits of advice...
Firstly if you can set up a web cam to point at it all night then search for and download LEDSET_Software_Cam_Wizard_v8.01 There are probably other similar progs but I managed to get this off a torrent site for free. You can set 4 cameras up to it and on each screen you can set specific areas of the screen to be a motion sensor, this way it only starts recording when something crosses it's path, then stops at a time you set eg. 20 seconds after no movement is picked up. I had a similar problem, luckily there's an eagle eyed traffic copper, living oposite me and he came over and chased them off, but they were doing the same thing, they were down my drive taking pictures while someone was at the end of the drive keeping watch, when they legged it from the copper they all jumped into another saxo at the end of the street.
Second ask your local police if they have any free disclocks, I've had them round my house offering me a free disclock, which I accepted the first time but they've been back twice asking if I want one, they give them out free to people who own desirable or modified cars. The one they gave me cost around £80 from halfords.
Thirdly from personal experience I'd always advise to declare all your modifications to your insurance company for the sake of a few extra quid on your policy. I nearly learnt the hard way and had to feed them some bullshit that when I'd rang up to enquire how much the mods would have cost me I'd told them to add them to my policy, which of course I hadn't, I ended up having massive problems, eventually got it sorted but had to back date the payment of the extra cost of policy to that date when I'd rang up, and pay it before they'd pay out any money for my car, which to be fair was very nice of them. My mate wasn't so lucky and lost £7000 grands worth of Skyline when he parked it on it's roof and made it into what he called his Flatline, and guess what according to his insurance it was factory spec... when have you ever seen a factory spec Skyline? They didn't give him a penny!!!

she said "did you just see that?"

basically a silver skoda/saab (see doesnt know which, damned girls) pulled up... a black guy got out and started taking pictures of my car from every angle, then walked to hers and started taking pics of hers.

now she lives on her own and has a child so she was obviously scared and didnt stop him. when he drove off she came to my house.

she also said that the night previously the same car pulled up and 3 black guys got out and was checking my car out, looking through windows, underneath, at my wheels, and shit...

WTF's that about.

all i can think is its gettin had off.

its not the nicest of area's and if it got nicked it wouldnt be the 1st in the area.

you could leave it in gear and disconnect the gear linkage from underneath the bonnet, then turn your wheels to an angle so it'll be harder to nick as they can't take it out of gear etc, also you could get loads of them bangers you could get when you were a kid (the things where you chuck them on the floor and they'd make a load banging noise) and you could surround the floor area around your car with them, then you know when people are around your car...
