I have the silverline, it's not very good for a beginner as you can easilly damage your paint with a rotary... I am a beginner but have a whole car to practice with it on.

You want a dual action really.

for a few quid extra you can get a dual action polisher i wished i had kept my rotory one as well but like the other guy said you can easily burn paint with them if you are not carefull

well now ive looked at the link ill try and be a bit helpful. nothing wrong with starting off with a rotary IMO but you need to get a lot of practice on a scrap panel, car you cont care that much about before using on your baby. the pads that come with that kit are shite. the compounds i cant comment on but tbh i would go for somthing line menz as its tried and tested by many people.

Only reason i recommend Orbital really is ive seen far too many people jump straight into Rotary and do damage to the paint......also as a saxo has so many plastic panels its easy to get carried away (when a polishing noob) and warp the panel from the heat.

I would hate to recommend a rotary and for someone to damage the paintwork....i would feel like a total c*** tbh. You'll still get a superb finish with Orbital, it will take longer but also there isnt the risk of burning.
