Hi
The best primer i found to use is just a normal car paint primer, but make sure its in the right colour, such as if your painting red, go for brown, black, go for grey, white, go for white and so on :)
Sand paper wise, you want to 400 grit the surface until its smooth. then go up to 800 and then go for 1200, make sure to use loads of water to keep the wet and dry from clogging up :D.
Spraying wise - Keep your spray can at a set distance from the spolier. move in a slow long movement along the width of the spoiler and keep all your movements smooth
