no offence to villa fans ;), but i can't see him wanting this move for anything other than money.
he's doing well at sunderland, playing regular etc.
but will be good for villa as they need a decent finisher, and personally i think he's been one of the top/most consistant in the prem over the past few years.

Doesn't like to stay at clubs long, does he?

to be honest i have a few sundeland fan mates and this season we have swapped i.e in the way we play and league position but its a complete shock like,
i cant see him being paid more than carew who i should think is on 60k a week and i think bent is on that on sunderland, but i dont know about the area so who knows

Bad news for the mackems.
Him being their top goal-scorer and all.

To be honest id rather have henderson than bent i rate him highly and is a cross between miner and barry which is what we are lacking i feel

18 mil is a hell of a lot for a player that must be unhappy & wants to leave... great business by if they fog him for that.

i see him going for 18million.
Villa still get relegated and so thus he gets sold in the summer/next winters transfer market for around 10million.

pretty sure when they signed him from spurs they mentioned they were some extra clauses so might be they want to get rid before they come up, specially if hes having ichy feet and they think he wants to move anyway.

Sunderland to get relegated as they will have nobody to score for them?

I find him quite a useful player IMO...
But he isnt worth that money, noone is!

iirc, it may be because his women lives down south still, its not mainly to do with money, Im sure he is still seeing a girl from my town, so a move from the North to Birmingham area would benefit his personal life, not just because of money.

Easy 6 points for us next season lol

Learner wont stump up 18 million.
will be downing plus cash or as per rumour at villa training ground, downing to liverpool and then money used to get bent.

Bent has scored 12 goals out of your 26 this season, nearly half. I'd ask the same question as gjf123103239013 aswel

Thank you very much Darrent Bent, all the best i would say.
He is no longer the spotlight centre of attention, doesnt like playing with a partner and when things get hard, he moves on.
He has done a spectacular job for us but 18 million for a player who is not interested is far more than he is worth.
onwards and upwards i say.

OK Fair enough mate.
Well here's what I think being a die hard Sunderland fan.
Over the last 2 months It's been clear something hasn't been right with Darren.
Ever since his injury with England he hasn't looked the same, his first touch is poor, he has lost all confidence infront of goal.
A combination of:
- Sunderland fans constantly criticising him on the local fan forum (which he reads everyday)
- His mum being racially abused at Wigan
- His Bentley being vandalised in Newcastle
- Rumours that he wasn't happy that Welbeck and Gyan formed a good partnership Vs Stoke and Chelsea.
Apparently he handed a request in last Summer but I do not believe this.
If he wants to go let him, no point keeping a player who isn't happy.
£18mill seems like brilliant business.
The timing on Darrens part is very poor, right after a poor performance vs Newcastle.
I hope since Robbie Keane has failed to agree terms with Birmingham we get him now.
£6million for a player of Keane's quality would seem like good business, I don't care if he's 30 he is still quality.
Rather have him than bloody Michael Owen, who we are getting linked with :wall:
Good luck Darren, you've made the last 18 months very enjoyable, good luck at Villa (but not against us)

Yes he was awful against us on Sunday. Spent more time pushing defenders in the back and moaning than anything else. 18m for him would be great for you and you could get a decent replacement for that money. Someone mentioned that his missus lives further down south so it would be better for him and his family if he moves? Had to laugh at some clown on the radio mentioning your lot going for Carroll as a replacement :mental:
You really dont want Owen mate. With us he was on massive wages and put in absolutely no effort despite being captain, he is just a money grabbing twat tbh...

Yeah I forgot to mention that, apparently his lass isn't happy either.
I hope we spend the money on getting Robbie Keane and Stephen Ireland

Your too shit to get either...

On the topic of the mackems;
They should buy robbie Keane, because then their 3 fwd's would be 'Young, Bent and Keane.

looks like the transfer has gone through.
interesting fact (if its true) on the bbc website, since 2005 there are only 2 players to score more goals than bent , drogba and rooney, considering how much regular football those 2 have had thats pretty good going.
