Just came to the misses house to find her crying and in a right mess and had news that she stopped off at burger king after work and as she was driving through the car park the airbag just deployed by it self for no reason, she didnt hit a bump or have anyone hit her it just spat out into her have leaving her bruised and sore...
Also when her dad was driving home they said the exhaust was REALLY loud and didnt sound right...
these must be connected as it only started after the airbag deployed.
will have a look tommorow but just wanted to know what the views were?
She look out a headlight bulb and left the wire dangling, Could this be the fault?
Is it just a straight swap over with steering wheels + boss etc...
?

Airbags don't just deploy on there own,the slightest bump can sometimes send them out but never just on there own, however if you can prove it did just come out for no reason get in touch with Peugeot asap and tell them! How old is the 206? If it's 10 years or older they won't want to know as in a prefect world airbags and pretensioners are ment to be changed out every 10 years

And the exhaust would just be coincidence in no way can that be related to it happening
However I oppose the damaged/exposited wiring could cause a short if it got went and could give the airbag ecu a wrong signal and fire the bag never hers of it hAppening before but still something caused it

Well thats what i thought...but look whats happend... Thats what i said to her 'you must of hit a little bump or something' but she was 100% sure she didnt hit anything.
Its an 03 plate, So what should i do...Take it round there?
Doubt they will do anything anyway seeing as its been through other garages for different stuff.
Thanks for the reply!

She's okay though right? Not got any burns from the airbag or anything?

Thats the french build quality for you. TBH It could just have been a dodgy connection to the airbag... maybe a previous bump etc Either way as said get it checked from the Pug garage n have a good chin wag with the frog eating, baguette smearing workers :)

Few Red marks on her chest, face etc.. and bruised and swollen fingers, i think the main thing she was upset about was the shock of it all! she said there was people in cars in the car park that just sat and watched! :@ ive seen a few vids on youtube of them deploying and they look pretty horrendous !

the exhaust blowing will almost deff be because the pipe going into the back box is rotted, there fuking murder for that 206's, ive changed a few, useually they rot and a small bump just snaps them

Bad news :n: Atleast she is ok.
Airbag wont just go off for no reason though, something must have triggered it, even the slightest bump.
