Key fob for vtr

Hi, iv just bought a 2001 two tonned vtr! When I went to see the car the key fog was working fine! ( locking n unlocking the car) but sods law as soon as I get hone it won't work!! Iv been told that u have to go though citroën but think that will be a rip off!! Does any one wer I can get a battery from?? Any ideas???? Cheers

didn't go through citroen for mine, and it works fine.

iirc its a CR 1620 (3V) button cell so anywhere that sells watch batteries should do, or amazon etc

don't forget when you replace the battery you will need to reset the key fob.

i bought a new battery for mine, went to citroen to get it coded back in and they wanted something like 55 quid, so i just left it. doesnt bother me anymore that i have 2 put my key in my door to open it lol.
