You hear everyday about people being killed by dangerous drivers... Take Gav for example.

And now, a close friend of mine has been made into another statistic...

My mate of 14 years, Lewis Balyckyi, was killed on Tuesday by a van driver.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-12238854

What makes people drive like this? Do they not realise the consequences?

I hope Lewis' and Gav's killers both get what they deserve.

Obviously Gav's death has affected alot of members on here, but do you know anyone else who has been killed by a dangerous driver?

Discuss...

1 of you might have heard about actually, was in papers alot. He got hit at a crossroads by someone speeding, he got trapped in the car and couldnt get out, and his car was on fire :( He was driving a 106.
Ill PM you a link to it tonight if I can find it

Sadly it is very common. There are even a fair few people on this forum that should not be on the roads the way they drive. Best thing you can do is openly shun such drivers and hope people learn. RIP

one of my best mates got killed by a drunk driver we were ment to be going for a night out he was getting impatiant the minibus was late so got a lift with a lad we went to school with enyway minibus turned up we all headed off came round a corner to find compleat carnage could hear some one shouting in the wrekage of the car wasnt till we climed onto the car and looked we realised the car was the same one our mate got into he was nowhere to be found neather was the driver police abulance fire turned up bout 10 mins later an cut the pasenger out the police found our mates body 30 yards into a feild when recovering the car. the driver got a 18month ban and £900 pound costs in my eyes somebodys life is worth more than that. but dangerouse drivers need teaching a lesson as much as drink drivers

Some lad called Joe i used to hang around with when i was younger was killed on a moped. Not sure if it was due to another motorist or if he crashed but its weird when someone you know/did know dies.

RIP lads x

Sucha sad thing to hear about, an innocent lad on his bike and gets hit.
Would be good to see the van driver get the justice he deserves!
Sorry for your loss Mike.
RIP Lewis

I know too many people that've died in car/bike accidents due to dangerous driving or just themselves in the car and lost control.
One of my very good close friends died in a car crash just before Christmas in 2009 still miss him to this day, still can't believe its happened but these horrible things do happen :(

Rest in peace Ollie, hope you're showing them all you're amazing guitar skills up there dude! X

RIP.

I know multiple people that have been killed or badly injured on the roads. Two of them were on bikes, friend of mines dad was killed right in front of her and one of my Dad's best mates was hit and is now paralysed from the neck down.

2 of my best mates were killed in a car crash, the driver was picking up a car he wanted to use as a banger racer, and drove it back and hit a bus! I was only 14, was fucking devastated! 1 positive, it makes me and my mates drive sensibly.

First up, sorry for your loss Mike, dude

I lost a mate few years back. He was on his motorbike and 'apparently' the local slapper decided it'd be a good idea to grab her boyfriend's steering wheel and swerve the car at him.
RIP Johnboy :(

Unfortunately the Police were never able to prove this, but that's what she was going round saying. If she did or not, i don't know. But either way she deserve's to rot in hell imo.

I Guess its people who work against a clock that tend to slip into the habit of driving faster. Rushed / manic driving.

Everybody do silly things but taking someones life is way over the top. A lad i knew at school died a few years back, i hated him at school and we had fights.... now i feel bad we had the fights and should have been friends.

http://jay-burns.gonetoosoon.org/memorial/

He didnt get kicked off his bike a car pulled out to overtake a parked car and he hit it head on as the woman in the car didnt see him, a mate of mine was there at the scene he watched it happen as he was in his car parked further up the road waiting to meet him.

never understand the need for stupid driving on public roads, thats what track days are for, everyone at the track has the choice to be there or not......
i have no choice but to use the roads, no work no money!!!
it always the same story, driver with previous history kills/injures innocent person and nothing will ever change......sad but true....
sorry for your losses guys

Thought I'd bump this thread as this hit me hard and I know Sax-P is full of "I never speed or dangerous drive", but just think before you drive like a cunt, because it could be someone important to you that is taken away.

My uncle has been banned 4 times for driving like a cunt or drink driving- needless to say i will never get in a car with him, and i don't think he should of been allowed his license back. repeat offenders are the worse imo
