I am one of these people who you say, do you do much exercise and my straight responce is: No.
Football isn't my greatest interest / ever has been. I understand the concept and all the rules of Football.
Tonight is my first game of 5 a side in about 5 years. Please dear god someone give me some tips! <3

Dont follow the ball like a headless chicken..
Be aware of who is around you..
Man mark and stay with your men..
Depends where you play really, i am a striker but if we are losing i go into defence ;)

I was going to say the same as Tring, just listen to your team mates, I am not fit but I was ok at five a side, I used to do it once a week when I was 16-17 and really enjoyed it.
Dont hog the ball either.

I play every Wednesday, its a pretty epic and quick game and its alot harder than 11-a-side football.
Best tip;
Go In Goal.

Just stand on the edge of the area and let the players come to you, mark the man not the ball.
And most importantly, just enjoy it!

Try a lot of 1-2 passing as receiving and then standing still with the ball will not help at all lol.
Make a lot of space for receiving passes, and go in hard on tackles ;)

I used to do 6-a-side football just over a year ago. Like most people said, try to mark one man, stick with him. Try to hassle him as much as possible but try not to foul, and if you get tired to quick only starting up and you said you arn't that fit, take the advantage of subs if you need to. Oh, and try not to constanly clear the ball of the pitch, someone in the league i was in must of thought it was rugby! Half hour game with about 10 mins of it searching for the bloody football again!

Man mark
Save your energy
Don't run off your man just because someone with the ball is coming towards you
LISTEN TO YOUR KEEPER, he can see the whole game from where he is
I'm a keeper for a 6 a-side League and Cup winning team aswell as 11 a-side and after every game my voice has gone from people shouting and people not listening as much as they should :P
