right ive been in talk for some time with a guy on here whos willing to make me a bonnet with a scoop off set just before the throttle bodies so i can get a more direct cold air flow into them, i can see the Pros from doing this being increased mass of cold air into the engine and possibly a better throttle responce, Cons being it could let water in/onto the filter then sucked into the engine if not designed right and maybe cause a airpocket in the engine space itself (would i be right in thinking this) with the unused air.
Can you all share your opinions on this please

dave, what is your setup under the naca duct? an air box pressed up against the bonnet?

Just get a subaru bonnet vent, theyre only about £40. Not hard to fit at all.

really not a fan of those as they come upoff the bonnet and then curve over iwas thinking more along the lines of this

Edit that 1 in your pic doesnt look as bad as i thought it would, did the scoops change at all with the shapes

it may not look big. but naca ducts are highly efficient

so i believe, what about a mini cooper s scoop not over the top and would sit nicely in the bonnet

probably the most used shape of a vent in production today.

Heck even a carrera GT uses this shape in its inlet system

aerodynamically and aesthetically the NACA duct is best. Big bonnet scoops look rubbish.

the old 106 under bonnet set up was interesting mind, although not easy to copy and one wonders how much it is effected by heat chanelling it directly over the engine
