Help with it? The only thing you can do is buy a new radiator, around £30 on eBay for a new one

Well, i dont know anything about cars really, not tech wise anyway

wouldnt a garage charge through the roof?

plus bumper is fucked

If you supply the part they should charge you an hour and half labour thats removing old rad, installing new one and putting new coolant in. Garages around here are 30/40 per hour. For the bumper the best place is eBay or local scrapyards

Ok - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CITROEN-SAXO-MANUAL-RADIATOR-1-0-1-1-1-6-1995-2001-NEW-/150543338880?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item230d150d80 £32 delivered for a brand new one, not a bad price. The rad will probably be fine for now if it's not leaking but I wouldn't like a bent radiator.

I know.

Couple of lads were close behind me, like i said. Don't know them, but they seemed to know enough about cars, and said it looked nasty, but said nothing seems to be leaking.

Will have to inspect it properly tomorrow, but radiator is deffinately completely bent, but not leaking, tyres/lights are fine, bonet is fine, engine appears unscaved. but right in the center at the front is where it took the impact, so have a feeling the subframe is abit bent as well :/

really don't know what to do, and i don't have many mates in-the-know, so hopefully some people around here can give some advice :)

probably you slam panel, theyre about £30 from ebay too

easy to replace just a few bolts,

make sure u check all the clips on your headlights...

desir0
22nd January 2011, 01:55
Yeah.

Garage will charge through the roof though, and I don't know enough about cars myself to sort it.

Will have to try and find a mate of a mate, or perhaps someone around where i live to give me abit of a hand with it.

Ouch.

Yeah, well didn't seem to get as high as the bonnet and lights.

Kinda just ripped up the front underside, but luckily doesn't seem like the engine itself has been effected, kinda just stopped intime.

But i could be completely wrong, as it was pitch black. Ill have to confirm tomorrow, and hopefully get some stuff sorted

I can safely say its beyond economical repair its a write off, cut your loses and weigh it in. the front legs are twisted in so the chassis is bent for sure.

sorry to say it but yeh. look at the bar that runs from each post, its bent back and pulled the 2 legs round if you can see what i mean? they should be straight. Its fixable but would cost more than the cars worth to do.

desir0
22nd January 2011, 10:55
Ahh yeah, I see that.

I thought that was the slam panel just?

citroen_saxo_vtr
22nd January 2011, 16:11
nope they are your front chassis legs, your slam panel is the part that your lights are bolted into and your bonnet latch attached too.

with young sir above here, most certainly looking atleast £2k if you were to get it repaired at a body repairer and this would be something sugguested by all

citroen_saxo_vtr

Fr a start it would require a jigg and they are between £500-£1000 as i have had a quote before for my old 106 and noway was i going to spend that just to straighten it, then your talking cutting and welding, panels, painting, labour £2000 minimum. More than the car is worth you may aswell spend that money on a mint vtr or vts.

i guess its time to break it and get ur money back :D or see if some1 on here is buying parts/the rest of the car ^^

u can get a shit load of money if u break it :)

does it still drive ok?

just tie that bent front middle bit to a lamp post and reverse gently, buy a new rad, fit it yourself, new bonnet and bumper, fit them yourself. sorted

Yeah it drives as it should.

And haha, the guy who helped me actually suggested tying it to a tree and doing the same..

But trust me, the knowledge I have on car's is minimal, no way i could fix that myself.

I did the post and chain stunt with my 106 but your legs are bent in, you can do it by all means but dont expect it to pass its next mot or be safe.......

ya that'd be my worry. would probably be quite easy to get a temp solution but come June when the MOT is due, then im back to square 1.

Chr15
25th January 2011, 18:43
i wouldnt even attempt it even as a temporary solution. just look a cheap runaround. you'll be able to make some, money back, wheels might be ok, engine, doors, panels, boot lid, interior etc

Just do what the above have said, buy another bonnet, top slam panel and bumper, straighten out that lower slam panel as best as you can then bolt on the new bits.

Then sell the car to a local chav for couple hundred quid.

JFox
25th January 2011, 19:27
then the chav will crash and coz of the damage die and that will be one less chav!

evil thinking!

lmfao...
