Spray wd40 around the manifold/ throttle body joints. Engine note will change when the wd40 is sucked in and burnt. Replace effected gasket. Have fag/tea, jobs a good un.

i have sprayed wd40 all over it and so far no luck, does it actually sound like its sucking air to you?

Sounds like the breather pipe is either not connected properly or it has a split In it

if i get a chance one day this week, i think i will have to take off all the pipes that are to do with anything that breathes and inspect them

You are more likey to notice the engine note change with the wd40. One more thing is to make sure brake servo is not leaking. If the diaphragm fails the manifold will be suckin in air all the time.

You can start car for a few seconds then stop engine. Wait a minute or two then pull the vac pipe off the servo while listening for a pop or rush of air sound. The sound is a good thing - it proves it is holding a vacuum and therefore is not leaking.

well when we pulled the pipe off no sound was heard, does this mean the pipe from engine to the servo needs replacing?
