Thanks dude:)
Well the VTS could be marginely quicker as it is with a Clio RS, but the power difference is noticeable, the 206 feels like it's got a turbo when VVT kicks in and it really pulls, the VTS is very quick but doesn't feel powerful? it just feels quick lol. It's strange and all to do with the characteristics of the engines no doubt lol.
Also remember the VTS isn't stock, and the 206 has just a catback, and is much heavier. I could find out if I really wanted as my girlfriend drives the Saxo but I don't want to mess around because it's dangerous:)
Looks nice but not a fan of the silver grill and it does need lowering !!!
Thanks pal, in regards to the grille I like the SP kit:) I agree it needs lowering but for stance I cba after the paxo, if I was after better cornering ability I'd go for it though, who knows?

I love them lol
You have to hit 4.5 to wake them that's when VVT kicks in, if you did rev it and it was slow, it could have been a lemon lol
Mines not much different speed wise to my S which has Raceland 4-2-1 Saxsport decat back, Simota filter, Denzo irridium plugs a Tank of V powahs and just had a major service lol

Have you a graph?
Most with exhaust
remap
filter
uprated plugs see around 180-190
My old one was highly strung I had all those mods, it was a little piggy but very quick!
I remember seeing this for sale before you bought it, looked nice.

When i bought it, it had a sport cat exhaust, k&n, in the 4 months i owned it, it was cammed, de-cat, remapped, i must admit, the RR wasnt a very big place, and a few of us went, dont really know how accurate it was, but i did have the graph, sold it with the car tho

With cams that sounds about right, don't see many cammed 180's:)
Well let's call this the start of the progress...
It will be very slow, which is unlike me because I have very little plans for this other than keeping it mint and I also plan on going on as many holidays this year as possible lol.
Today I bought a new microfibre for the wheels & some Redex fuel treatment, I do it with all my cars no idea why lol

Dont you mean Posi Blue :homme:
Tis a really nice car mate, not too sure about the rear lights though!
Also, re-iterate what a couple of people said in terms of performance, I test drove one when they first came out and just wasnt lit up by it. It felt nippy and handled well, but just didnt say "hello!".
No doubt when you've worked your magic on it it will be a real stunner :y:
Good mileage on it, bit of an investment I reckon!

Nope it's definitely 'Aegean' blue:y:
See I was different I test drove a 182 before and it reminded me so much of the Saxo it was replacing, don't get me wrong I did enjoy the test drive but when I got in the 206 it felt special and as quick as the Clio. To me the Clio was how you say you found the 206, it felt boring to sit in and not that nice to look at, i'm sure they are great in the bends as every review says but that's just not enough for me.
I don't want to start a Clio RS vs 206 Gti180 war or anything but it's all down to what you like in the end.
I prefer the 206, hense this is my second and I could have got a 182, 172 or any of the other rivals, they just don't do it for me like this doesn't for everyone:zainy: lol
thanks for the comment, and I agree with the investment, they are getting rarer and rarer due to people writing them off, there's under 3 thousand in the Uk iirc, that was valid in 09!
Thanks for the comment

To cut my reply short, I'll just say ~ media influence + forums + sheep + people that track their cars twice a year and run out of my own thread... of course not everyone fits this bill though:)
All I know is they are rare, and I've always preferred them.

Thanks mate, the engine feels alot more powerful, but I haven't raced them or anything so not sure, i'd say the S could be faster as it used to beat 182's ect and the 180 is as quick as them.

Today I gave her a QD;
Method;
Warm Light wash with Gold Class Shampoo using 2BM via Dodo Juice Wookies Paw - Not at home to use all my proper gear (snow foam ect)
Dry with Plush towel
Next i used Menzerna Top Inspection to QD the car
Followed by Dodo Juice Red Mist
Half hr later 2 layers of Dodo Juice Light fantastic were applied
& finally another layer of Red Mist.
Front splitter and tires were treated with Meguiars gel & exhaust shinned up with Autosol.
Soon I will properly detail the car but for now heres how she stands;

They should do now, well I have to say, I love my VTS but this is definitely a faster car, the VTS maybe slightly quicker to say 60, but you can feel the 2.0's power and in every gear it pulls (no need for the change down)
Love them both tbh

Nice mate. bought one after then did you :)
Thanks mate, yeh it makes sense really, I loved the vts, hell I still do but the milleage was creaping up because I do big motorway trips, still at least I can say in the year I had it, from 52-64k 98% of the miles were motorway:)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right well I may aswell add this on here too, i'm updating my plans list!
Due to owning a fairly well moded Saxo VTS, I'm on the hunt for a little more 'excitement' out of the 206 as such. I do alot of motorway journeys and I don't know if it's just me, but my girlfriend agrees and believes my VTS is quicker, I'm unsure if it's true unless we race' them but it certainly feels it.
It's probably down to the VTS being made of crisp packets and being low down, but 3rd feels more urgent in the VTS, where as the 206, feels quick but maybe a little restricted, until VVT kicks in so I think it's probably down to the power band, you have to thrash the 206 to get the best out of it, who know's i'm not insuring the paxo to find out either way lol
Soo heres my plans... for added rawness
As ya'll know I usually use Simota CAIS for my cars but, i'm struggling to locate my supplier, and the brand new Simota website is not great (great design) but they don't reply to my enquiries from before Xmas!
So heres what i'm opting for;
- BMC CDA kit for the RC courtesy of Kamracing
- Denso Irridium plugs
- Uprated Simota oil filter If I can get one
- & looking in to remapping again but not Angel tuning this time, but RStuning as things have changed since 2007 and they apparently are the best bet for the 180... IIRC they got 195 bhp out of a standard 180
I'm not opting for big power or anything so no cams / boddies as I can't justify that sort of expense. (it's not like modding a Saxo, cams alone are almost £700)
-After doing some research this time i'm opting for APcoilovers I think :) Although I have to say it's more of a stance thing for me, I don't track or race around country lanes.
For now the alloys will stay standard as tbh even when I had my White Team Dynamics I always enjoyed the winter months for when I reverted to them! But if there is ever a change it will be either; 17" White OZ Supper T's or Anthracite Speedline Turnis.
The only other plans I can think of is,
-Real CF mirror caps either form Ecosse or Streamline CF - (used alot previously)
- Wind deflectors
- Adjusting the exhaust as it sits a little to the left
- Fitting my private plates:)
- Possibly opting for standard rear lenses
- Brembo discs & pads
- Full detail with Menzerna Polishes & G220

Update, I gave her a clean last weekend and I found some f*cking twat bag has reversed in to my car leaving a small, but still noticeable mark on the front bumper! You already may have guessed that they hadn't left a note:(
On a brighter note, she got a snow foam and a jolly clean ... my interwebs is shit slow so only 2 pics;
Snow foam

& a pic of how she will look with her new plates when I get the V5:)

Also;Reet well kinda an update, not so much on the progress of the car but here goes...
So, I mentioned in a previous post that I wanted to make it faster, and it wasn't till this weekend and not having the previous owners plates and car still registered to him that I have been able to have a proper little play...
I can honestly say after not taking it so easy on the car and delving in to the VVT on some nice windey roads on the way back from Milton Keynes yesterday that it showed it's true colors... It's everything how I remember my old one to be... a great exhilarating drive, it revved hard all the way to just before the redline picking up speed very quickly within VVT. I have to say after having a proper drive in it I don't miss my Saxo as much as I thought I might and i'm proud to own something that's a little special in my eyes with what I believe has the passion others say was lost in the new Pugs.
Treat it nice and it becomes sedate and civilized, rev it hard and really work it and it really does suprise, before I went out I had been reading an old article on it ad some forum posts where it was compared to the Clio's, tbh wasn't a great review as we all know. I came back feeling that the 180 had been subjected to an injustice, it's no where near as bad as made out and I bloody love it
Sure it's not as raw, and hardcore and noisy as my Saxo but when you give it the beans and commit it rewards and that's what drivings all about to me.
Anyway bonner time over...:flappin:
This weekend I stumbled across some empty spray can used for hair and they are a very close to the actual colour of my 180 so I thought it would be rude not to, so I now have my Qd' in these;

Also, you may have noticed the frebreeze, it smells similar to Dodo Juice Red Mist so that's now a part of my detailing kit:)

I love the second photo
Updated pics;
Changes are minimal, got my plates on + changed the gash rear lights for stock parts! & It's been nicknamed (I usually think nicknaming a car is gay but...wait til you hear it... SONIC... uncanny IMO lol)
I guess I could have spent a little more time on the windows lol + tire shine was in Bedfordshire (I was in London)
You may also notice the small scuff on my cars nose due to some ***T
I Know it needs lowering so before you say it - It needs lowering, unsure about S wheels though.. maybe some Team D's lol.
(It won't be getting either, just planning to keep it clean and standardish)
Oh yeah and it just sailed through it's first MOT @ just under 30k.
They failed me on illegal numberplates so I had to buy new legally spaced ones on the day to pass it though lol...
+ I got a cuation for having a loud exhaust... I've heard louder farts...

Thanks mate,
What people don't seem to realise really they aren't slow, hardly any difference between them and a 182 unless you get a lemon.

Anyway...
I decided it was time to semi sort my car out for The French Car Show!
Heres my method;
Rinse down, pannels degreased
Tardis to remove tar (duh)
Iron X to decomtaminate
Rinsed
Wheels then got treated with Iron X and cleaned down
Car then recieved a warm PH Neutral snow foam Mix with Dodo Juice Supernatural Shampoo & a little Meguairs Gold class shampoo.
Rinsed
2 BM with Dodo Juice Supernatural + Chemical Guys Maxi Sudds II
Rinsed
2 BM with Dodo Juice Supernatural shampoo
Rinsed
Dodo Juice Time To Dry applied & car dried via I4D Uber Blue Drying Towel
Car wiped down using Menzerna top inspection
The car was recently clayed so after decomtamination the paintwork was as smooth as.
I then proceeded to polish the car via hand using Menzerna polishes, Menzerna 85 RD & power gloss.
The car then had another warm PH nuetral snow foam, Dodo Juice Time to dry & dry with the Uber towel.
I then wiped the car down again with Menzerna top inspection
Followed by Dodo Juice Red Mist Tropical and left it for 2 hrs
Came back and applied a layer of Dodo Juice Blue Velvet soft wax
left it to cure for 3 hrs
Finally I applied another coat of Dodo Juice Red Mist Tropical to finish the paintwork (don't have the funds to perform correction atm)
The wheels were sealed with Auto Glym power gloss & tires with Meguairs Endurance gel.
Exhaust naturally recieved a some treatment with Autosol!
Sorry for the lack of pictures, it started to look like rain was on it's way so I stopped!
I also applogise for the most un structured write up you will possibly ever have to endure lol!

I missed my old one until I ended up with this beu :)
Literally loved my old one, but bastard pikeys destroyed it which gave me the excuse to upgrade to my ST at the time, still missed the drive even in a E0 ST, although I'd have my ST back in a heartbeat lol.

Haven't updated this in a while...
I have removed a few of the rear badges to make it look cleaner & added a new style SP badge to the front grille in terms of any progress lol
Ohhh almost forgot I also bought some powerflex exhaust rubbers as the stock ones were nackered so the exhaust sits 100x better :)
Anyway...
A few days back I gave it a nice clean, polish, & wax...
Polish used - Dodo Juice Lime Prime Light (non abraisive)
Wax - Dodo Juice Blue Velvet Hard Wax
Today I gave her a QD -Dodo Juice Born Slippy to remove any surface dust ready to be sealed...
LSP = Dodo Juice Red Mist

Thanks Harry,
I miss the S too. Wish I could have kept both but my stupidity sometimes get's the better of me lol
In terms of plans,
-AP Coilovers
-B&M stlye quick shifter (unless I can buy a B&M but they stopped producing them)
But I'm moving in to my own place soon, buying a Siberian Husky & booking a holiday so... unsure when I will be able to get them both lol
harry289
23rd July 2011, 18:25
Ah i can afford insurance on a VTS now. Wish i could get hold of yours. One of my favourite VTS' of all time.
Siberian Husky, get one with deep blue eyes. I'd love one of them too.
I know how you mean about moving house. Me and the GF have got our own place and may resort into just using her black 55 plate fiesta zetec lol :P untill we get settled.
Jamie

It's great when you can get insured on things you couldn't before isn't it lol
It's like playing a game and unlocking levels but by getting older lol!
Thanks for the compliment, I'm always on the look to see if it's progressed or even still about but never found it yet seems to have done a dissapearing act.
The husky is defo going to have blue eyes :) or maybe one blue one brown!
Moving in to your own place rocks but boyyyy does it cost! it all amounts up quickly lol
Fiestas are good, they have a great chasis so it should keep you busy haha
harry289
23rd July 2011, 18:49
Yeah it does cost. I hate reality lol! I'v been looking for a different project but I cant get away from saxo's yet so may get a VTS early next year. Low mileage one if one's about. Clio cups are bit out my league for insurance, so are 206 gti's, CTR's ect. Would think of remapping an ST but for a good one they are too much to buy in the first place! Not much else takes my fancy, even though an EK4 would be alright.
May take inspiration of your VTS, and try and make it as mint as what yours was. Or get a VTR and put a C2 VTS engine under the hood!
Once your 206 has coilovers it will sit sexilly! Are AP coilovers a good quality piece of kit would you say? :)

Fuckit so after a while off forums I've decided to here and there post... why not..?
So what has changed?
Not much actually!
She's just ticked over 38k now and had her belts done and a full service also had a new starter motor.
I have removed the 206info sticker from under the rear spoiler (courtesy of the previous owner) and the next one to go and only surviving is the DW OCD sticker courtesy of well... erm (the old forum dwelling pic asw clean freak me)
I do still look after my car obviously but I've taken a major step back from all this forum business...
Anyway last June or July I took some pics of her with my mates cooper S @ silly hrs in a carpark...

I know people don't really like the 206 GTi180's because they've never given them the chance because they've of course read what little boys have said in gen chat and of course a few magazine articles ... but they are a good car and no slower than your average Clio RS.

They are shite on fuel, I get 27 -32 mpg according to the cars computer but I don't trust it...
I did manage to get over 40mpg using how much petrol I put in ltrs against how many miles I did... so for 140 miles 20 quids worth got me over 40mpg...
But in general it feels like I'm always filling up lol, might just be because I'm a student now and notice the money more.
You will defo get at least 27mpg lol.

Update, not exciting believe me but meh!
Firstly I'd like to apologise in advance for the amount of pics for a clean and exhaust bush update but meh pics keep things interesting!
Right so!
It's time to stop moaning about the nigglies and start loving the car again. If I wasn't a student it would all be bang on and I'd love it. Tbh I do as it sits their gleaming on my drive @ just over 40k.
Anyways...
The exhaust sitting pissed since I got it has been one of my hates. It's hard to find a decent straight fitting bush for the 180 : Janspeed. However thus far this bugger has done the job, haven't road tested it yet so unsure if it's going to vibrate on the bumper at times. The exhaust doesn't touch but it's cloooose.
Anywhooo here's the pics.

Right well, it looks like if all goes to plan I may have some new shoes for this bad boy,
A few nights back I scraped my 180 alloys on a curb missing a deer and I hate curbing! And as they are my only set I can't just get them refurbed!
So if all goes to plan these are what might be heading to a 206 near me!

Well I just went on Larkspeed and they're £238 PW! I don't doubt you can get them somewhere slightly cheaper though, but even if they were 200 that's still an £800 set of wheels! (not disclosing how much I'm paying haha) but they were advertised half heartedly with one pic and hardly any information...
Few `SLR pics clean up ect by me and I'll make at least a 1na on top I reckon!

Got the car back on Friday, signed for it thinking there was dirt down the side of the car, ended up having to take it back because of loads of over-spray all over the door and buffer trails all round the surrounding area, had 95% of the over-spray removed after the ball ache of driving the car to them.
The guy said it was all sorted and I checked it but was naive and didn't go over what they did 100% and we were in the shade with not much room to get a proper perspective.
Just got home and I've literally found hundreds of little scratches all around the car from where they have cleaned it with what I can only describe as razor blades. I'm so p**sed off but it took an hr to take it back.
I think paint correction will sort what's left but don't have the materials to sort it all.
DC - White in Hoe street in Walthamstow. The guy there seems alright but that doesn't make them a good bodyshop. I definitely wouldn't EVER use them again.
Gutted because the paintwork was nigh on mint before it went in and I haven't got the time to keep running the car backwards and forwards to them due to uni deadlines one of which is on monday!
I ended up spending Friday afternoon along with some of Saturday out with the g220 that's me out of any compounds now,
Shouldn't have had to do that, and luckily my paintwork is un-contaminated because I'm anal or I'd have had to take it somewhere!
98% of their s**te has come off, however I have a little lacker peel near where the work was done but not the actual place which I reckon was them, its on one of the bumpstrips.
I didn't have enough compounds to get rid of all the swirls they had made so focussed on the hardcore areas, I will eventually either buy compounds or pay someone to do it with a depth guage meter as I'd like to know how deep the paint is as opposed to going all out.
Here's a couple of pics;

Looks better, most wouldn't notice the little bits, you certainly have to be up close however I am so anal I notice any blemish, the body shop deny they caused half of it but the thing is I know they did. Just can't prove it.
I'm soooo happy to have it back though, I forgot how much I actually liked the car for a while and it was only until I had a bog standard Megane I realised how much. I do miss the cruise control though, but the car was gutless and made of shit.

So, no real mad update but I have been pissing around a little.
Made this last night. Just a cold air feed for my stock airbox to try this over my Simota CAIS to see if it makes any difference.
Well that was yesterday,
Today, first impressions are good it pains me to say it. As we know Jamie loves a good aftermarket CDA/CAIS. lol.
I'm not running an uprated panel but it feels good, power delivery is smoother and induction note has massively been reduced *not such a good thing for the chav inside*.
I would say there is probably not much difference between the modded stock setup and the Simota with the new airfeed.
I had to do some adjusting to my initial concept if you like... I.e. cutting the length down on the long pipe as it poked out of underneath the car. It now sit's perfectly and the feed at the bottom was extended and a mini plastic trumpety thing placed on the end.
I also 3m thick black tape where I connected the pipes to make sure no air escaped, it was all tight and stuff but every little helps!
I've noticed that the front end doesn't clonk as much over bumps now. I'm guessing that is due to all the metal piping being removed.
I've also noticed pops/bangs are louder and much more frequent now, after 100 or so miles of adjusting to it. (Probably not a good thing) maybe the car is still adjusting the mixture?
Anyway, I didn't get any pictures of the finished article but I would say this is probably the best setup for gains. I know it's not a new thing for people to prefer a replacement panel as it's cheaper than going all out, however for 180s the stock air system is quite complex - I'll get a picture at some point of the rest of the system but it's ridiculous lol.
I can only think probably more restrictive because of this, so pannel and a modded air feed seem to work bang on.
I can't prove the stock system is restrictive with science or any real data I just think it is & now with this far simpler setup with more direct air *no butterfly valves and endless piping* I can honestly say since I've tried all 3 setups over along period of time this is probably the best.
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8303/7883737456_13abf73624_b.jpg
I may also have another project coming real soon, something that will be abit more appealing to most, more of that in due time though!

Here are some pics of the stock airbox & custom feed.
The taping looks messy, it wasn't really required but I just wanted to make sure 100% no air could escape. The picture of how it was without the heavy duty 3m tape looks more aesthetically pleasing lol. I have however found a new spot to clean just under my airbox pipes look abit tatty. Pow.

206 looks stunning mate. Not 100% keen on the MG but it must be fairly quick.
Thanks mate :)
The MG was alright at the start but by the second week I fucking couldn't stand it. It was gutless for a 1.8T, literally gutless. When I jumped back in the Pug it felt like it had at least 50BHP more.
Also parts already felt like they were failing. Gearbox when cold crunched in to gears 4 & 5. A strange clunking started coming from the bay, to describe it I'd say it sounded like someone had fitted an airbox without any fixings holdin it in place so under decel it flew back an hit the engine... so probably engine or gearbox mounts?
Wouldn't ever buy a new MG after using that.
Can't believe how clean your bay is!! :panic:
MG is a bit :S
Thanks haha :D
I really wanted to like the MG as I like to like the under-dogs... but in the end nothing could help it. It is to no wonder they have the stigma they do attatched to the brand, and I'll be honest... MGB - MGF I love them...
Clean as ever Jamie! too much time on yo hands lol About times its getting some lows!
Thanks Baz, it would appear so :p
Lows soon(ish) haha
Looking really good dude. I should update my thread but for the lack of comments it seems pointless.
How do you keep it so clean!
Thanks mate,
I actually forgot to come back to this because I didn't expect any replies haha!
Update your thread! I still want your seats, they would look epic in my car lol!
As for keeping it clean - if you only knew how epically sad I am. It's a disease I can't help it.
What I do is I wash the car weekly, and during the week depending on how the dirt builds up... i.e. if it's dust or propper muck it will get QD'd after every trip, fully if it needs it and then repeat.
I am quite the fan of wasting product and do strip the layers of protection down to re-layer so the car has protection but it's not weathered which IMO effects the clarity of the finish lol!
Now for the update...
Guess what...
SHE'S BACK from her trip to the body shop!

started to get dark, not the best lighting for it, so better pictures to come once I have a play around with some product :)

I also just gave my bay a quick once over as it was filled with bodyshop dust lol
The ASW in me almost cried... I will have to give it a propper going over once the festive season is out of the way now though as the dust will only be replaced by salt!

Here are a few pictures the little sis took in Tesco's car park tonight.
The car has been on a 100 mile journey and has not been QD'd in these pictures. Can't believe considering it was spitting that no shite got on the paintwork lol

Thanks Aly,
She's in need of stone chips being removed on the front end, so I am going to get the front bumper and bonnet re-sprayed some time next year & some new creps'.
I've also scored a full set of VibraTechnic mounts for Christmas ( :
I would love to throw a supercharger at it but funds do not allow I'm afraid ) :
If the engine ever goes bang I will most probably shoe horn a THP 175 lump in though! straight out of the 207 RC even though I love the characteristics of the 2.0 lump.
I really love this car though. I don't know why but I've always had a soft spot of the 180's hense this is my second one ( :

Next is engine & torque bush. Won't be fitting the above until then so I don't stress the new mounts out OR wreck the stock ones before I get the new ones.
Ciao for now.

Just added a GB sticker to the window as I'm off to Belgium next week.
http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8084/8328718085_bedb8d4286_c.jpg
On Forza all my cars sport the GB sticker on the paintwork on the rear, I'm thinking of applying one to the left of the 180 badge on a slant but right near the glass.

Obviously I didn't do the heart haha.
I also have had BSI faults for a while...
Issues
-Horn sounding upon unlock ; won't turn off until you physically sound it.
-Air bag fault; Passenger airbag disabled
-Radio turning volume up to max
-ABS fault
-ESP failure
And cold start took a while on turn of key to start, sometimes the battery flatted. Anyway I've changed the battery and the car feels more alive starts on first turn straight away. All system failures have been fixed. So I'm guessing while the battery was failing the systems deactivated to stop damage being done?
And lastly...
http://static1.tradoro.pl/3370/rainsport2_1.jpg
Ordered 2x 205/40/R17/84W UniRoyal Rainsport 2's. I need more grip in the wet & snow so I'm sacrificing a little dry grip for better traction in the wet. I'm running T1R's on the rear so the car should be planted in the wet and dry. After the seasonal weather clears I'll drop it and have the uprated mounts fitted.

I hope so dude. One is falling back in love with his car .
One of my best mates has just bought one so that probably has made me like it more too. He just got a red one, actually on slightly lower mileage than mine (44k) mines just hit 49 :(. I like the red but prefer blue to live with.

They are awesome very underrated imo. Gives me jokes when people slag them off thinking they aren't up to much because of what they've read. I play with the Clio boys all day long and in the corners, to their dismay. Someone in a 172 tried to dispatch me and failed a few weeks back on the M25 he got burnt by a car length and then I stopped just to prove a point haha (sad I know).
Very juicy cars though and not cheap to run and maintain. Lots haven't been maintained very well. No real issues to look out for. Suspension bushes go and the stock exhaust bar that they're sweet. They should have all had at least one cambelt change by now but many people haven't and recently there has been abit of an influx of engine failures due to this. All the owners faults imo so have little sympathy!
Agree they do look awesome in red. I'd have one, but far prefer Aegean blue.

Quite possibly mate, I mean engine parts for sure.
Interior parts, maybe mechanical bits that work behind the scenes but anything that is designed specifically for the Pug cockpit like interior plastics ect I doubt without modification.
Wonder if I could get a VTS cruise control to work lol.
406 autodim wipers are a choice mod.

Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 16" wrapped in Federal Super Sport SS595 205/45 R16
http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj277/WorcestersFinest/image_zps1109039d.jpg
We all know by now I love my Team dynamic pro race 1.2's this will be my first ever black alloys though. The centre caps have been wrapped in '4d Carbon wrap, personally I hate wrap so... unless it's like the gel looking one I searched on google that will be off.
The wheels were bought and fitted but only for 2k and the owner got some forged alloys for his 180 so these are mint i.e no curbing ect ect.
The wheels come with 10mm spacers for the front & 20mm spacers for the rears which bring the offset out to ET28 front & ET18 rear and suitable longer bolts.
I really need to fit my coilovers soon, maybe just maybe I'll look in to getting some spare plastic morette housing's Carbon dipped or gloss black, Also thinking of purchasing some Brembo 4 pots again as they are a straight bolt on & uber cheap now days.
Cars now sitting on 56k fml lol.

Iphone pics alert but here they are... centre caps aren't my cup of tea being carbon wrapped, so I'll be replacing these if the wrap comes off and they are shoddy looking underneath.
Unfortunately couldn't fit them because my stock pug locker broke. Got to get them drilled out tried numerous ways of getting them off but nothing worked, well we managed to get 2 off.
So here they are sitting in my front room, I cleaned them and sealed them with Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid.

Had to strip the rear to pick them up! might keep it like that for a while. Pops and bangs are far louder and the car seems a little quicker due to the shed weight.

Stock 180 alloys with tyres are 17kg per corner
Team d's are 6.9 + tyres = 15kg
So saved around 1.2 stone in weight.

Jeez to the moon and back haha, I don't know what my deal is with mileage! Just a silly sod lol!
They look like melted metal! I do know the tool you are talking about shame we didn't have one at the time would have saved so much agro!

Well I've had two lol
I think they are and in terms of pace same as a 172/182 might be slightly worse in the corners on stock suspension but it's all down to driver ability really, 17s don't help but that's easily rectified with 15's-16's & some springs or Bilstein eibach setup.
Maybe if you test one (properly) you will see why I used to get excited when people said they were shite. It's just like the Clio though need to get it by the scrote to get it to move but it's fun unless you're on a motorway lol!
Test a few :)

I would if they were not all miles away
I love the 17's they looked whicked tbh and so do the seats, is more then likely to be the gear shift (which am sure can be sorted with a quick shift) and the pappy MPG they do, other than that they look half decent

I love them for looks but performance wise they're more of a hindrance than anything, and the ride is hard you feel every bump with those bad boys + the suspension lol.
Yeah quick shift is definitely a good move, I've been after one but can't seem to find one that fits as they don't use rods like the gti's ect.
Mpg is pap really I'm sitting at 28.5 atm but I do have a heavy right foot in the mornings on the way to the station lol!

Anything to look for on one apart from the rear axel?

Look out for clutch judder but most develop it mines had it for 2 years, can be sorted with a new clutch and skimmed fly wheel depending on how that looks but I'll be doing it at some point soon.
Bar that the usual's really like worn components (drop links, engine mounts ect) obviously just make sure it's had cam belt changed but you know this.

Made a slight mistake on the weight of the wheels. Previous owner weighed them at 11kg a corner and they're filled with nitrogen.
So it's a 24kg saving which equates to 3.7 stone according to google. Now I know my cars not a track car or any of that sort of stuff but every little helps! Obviously the aim of the game is to make the car quicker & handle better. If anything they will counter the weight of those front seats lol.
I also need to buy new centre caps for them as when I removed one of the wrapped ones to unwrap the caps it literally fell out in my hand. I also found the cap was one of the old school caps (silver) and missing most of the plastic bits to clip to the wheel. That's annoying there goes another £40 odd. I really need to stop talking and get them fitted though.

Upsprung weight is best
And yes get them fitted

Yesterday I ordered a set of brand new centre caps from seriouslylotus.
I decided to unwrap the caps because I hate carbon wrap but taking them off most of the clips with no force whatsoever snapped off obviously just old brittle plastic because they were older style caps. I would of had to anyway because the caps had the faces scratched to pieces as if they were going to be sprayed.

So £30 down wheels have cost me £430
Also forgot to add they came with an exact spare just needs a refurb... not really sure if I can be asked to get it done at the minute but I guess it's worth keeping just incase *probably worth fuck all anyway lol*
The spare lol.

So this weekend if all goes to plan they'll be fitted :).
Next plans are suspension and mounts to be fitted and buy some Brembos thinking of colours but I did a photoshop a while back which can be seen below;
Obviously completely different wheels, and tbf I'm not sure any of those are particularly exciting. Yellow would look good again but I don't really want to be same old - but it's a high contender. A sparkling silver with black decals could look alright but a tad boring...
OR it's a tad out there but GOLD and black lol.

I don't think they look too big myself, even though the 182 stock wheels are 16's I think they look about as ridiculous as they do.

My reason for getting shot is;
A) they need a refurb and I don't have spares to piss about with
B) they are quite a hindrance on performance due to the size and weight
The size is an issue but not look wise for me :)
On another note I've 99% decided that when I get my brembos they will be going gold with a glittery finish *not too much* and black decals. Think that should look sweet behind the team d's with a drop.

Yeah I've never liked anything but turini's on clio's or aftermarket wheels of course. Again I think 15's suit old skool french hatches better.

Let's start with the good news,
The good news is they're on...
http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3671/10384795636_3e3e8ef122_c.jpg
The bad news starts here...
Now when I last had a tyre change I took my car to a place called (fa rm t yre s).. just so I don't get owned in the night haha.
Anyways they air gunned my locking wheel nuts in and basically broke my locker key! we tried our best to hammer a nut in to place and remove them that way but 2 remained unfazed. After this I let my mates uncle have a shot at getting it off. He decided to use an air chizzle on the nuts in hope to crack them off, this wasn't the best plan but it was too late he'd done it. After this I took them to my uncle who tried to weld a nut on and unscrew but the heads were too fucked. He managed to weld it on but when he used the socket set it ripped it clean off. After this we tried to drill them out which was a waste of time and we weren't cracking it. So as a last resort we cut them off. :(

How pikey eh? Waste of good wheels but no other option but to keep drilling... we got the best peices we could! but obviously didn't spend ridiculous amounts.
Then today on the way to my uncles I noticed this;

OMFG :(
