I fitted a new cambelt, timed it up correctly, and i've turned the crank over twice, but when i turn it, every so often there feels like a slip, and it turns over really easy, then goes back to normal.

I've tried taking off the tension slighty and tensioning it slighty more, but it still happens, and ideas? :s And yes the cambelt is on the right way :)

Are the timing holes still lined up after you have turned it over by hand a few times?

can you be a little more specific, do you mean it gets hard then springs forward a wee bit? it is probibly just when the cams a compressing the valve springs then when you pass max lift the spring pushes the cam round

Sounds like it should do then mate :y: aslong as the holes are still aligned and the belt is tensioned properly. then it should be OK. :)

yes definetly sounds like where the cams are compressin the valve springs (as said) :)

Also you may be overcoming the compression of the engine unless you have taken the plugs out already.
