Going to pikup my new bushes and ball joints for my wishbones, wondering if its possible to change them myself or would a garage need to do it for me?

I always used my giant vice for doing balljoints and bushes. Just using a combination of drifts and lots of strength, you can pop the balljoints out and press new one in.

Just chop the old bush off, then get the wishbone in the vice and batter the new one on.

sounds like a mission to me =/ lol Think a garage should do it for me?

If you take them the parts and arms, they shouldnt charge you too much to change the bushes and joints.

a good garage should easily be able to do them in an hour. 50 quid tops. less if you can get them to do a back pocket job

Not sure of where round here is reputable though.

Are you near Glasgow urself? Also what is a good wishbone bush to go for? I feel the Powerflex ones are a bit overpriced...

Yeah im just down by the loch.

I quite like the powerflex stuff, you can normally get them cheap on ebay. If its the front bushes, you dont even need a vice to put them in, you just slide them in, then hammer the stainless bush into the poly part.

no worries. just spoke to my mechanic about pressing the ball joints for me and I just asked him about the whole front end to get done, Says £90 to fit the springs, front wheel bearing, ball joints + bush's, drop links and trackrod ends. I thought that wasn't too bad so think ill save myself the hassle and just get them to do it all for me.

Just gonna get the bushes from ebay and save myself some cash. Whats ur thoughts on the wishbone bushes?

good price for all that work imo.

The wishbone bushes, I havent used myself, but people I know who have said the powerflex stuff was decent.
