View Full Version : Best primer for orange?

Really unsure what primer we should be using to paint a set of wheels we have, im going for ST Orange, with a matt black shell, but unsure what colour of primer we should use to get the best shine of colour lol
Help! :P

Focus ST orange is a 3 stage paint anyway's so you need the orange primer the orange base and the orange pearl over the top. so unless you buy the cheap Halford's spray paint you get the primer in the package.
If your going the Halford's way it looks nothing like ST Orange by the way and all there base coats are made to go over there standard grey primer paint apart from white's and red's.

That is a sound bit of advice, if you simply want to go primer to orange I would go with either a light grey or decent white primer.

i did a set of wheels last year in orange for a mate... i ended up having fiat punto orange, close to lambo or st orange but with no special primer... and a light grey is best, we tryed white but wasnt perfect... :)

I just used Grey primer, come out really good :)

White.....light top coat, light primer else it will be harder to cover (more layers)
