im sure saxo 1.1s are high on insurance as the other day i got quoted £200 less than im paying now for a furio 1.4 and im driving a forte 1.1 just now. literally made me feel sick the to think the only reason i got a 1.1 was to get cheap insurance in the first place. i do have 8 points aswell lol

i had a 1.1 forte on a X reg. best i was quoted was £3200!!! i am 19 but it was ridiculous
Now ive got a VTR mk1 and ive been quoted 2,900 ?! so cheaper for me to drive a vtr than a forte!

expensive but id rather pay less for a better motor :P

Statistics play a part in insurance prices, if more 1.1's have been crashed in the last 12 months, chances are that they are going to be more expensive to insure.

Just because a VTR has a bigger engine, doesnt automatically mean its going to be more expensive to insure and a 1.1/furio.

Dont try to find logic behind insurance prices, you will be wasting your time :)

I also looked at saxo 1.1/1.4. Insurance prices are stupid on them..
I actualy managed to get a 1.4 insured for around what youve been quoted on a 1.1.
Play around with different cars or indeed ur quote.

I do not advise this but
if your not to bothered about your insurance etc change you job to something that is a lower risk job, mess around with where the car is kept (find someone in your family that has a lower crime rate) etc all these things make a difference. I also found out that parking on the road at home is cheaper than a garage or driveway

Admiral is the cheapest for my 1.1, they want £1,700, however they wanted a simular price for a furio. As other people have said I got a 1.1 because I thought it would be cheaper, but there wasnt much difference.

So true, I got a vtr at 17 as a 1.1 was more to insure (and because im a badman race car driver :P).

get a 1 litre punto lol, thats why i did, bought it for £300, 94 reg, my 1st insurance was £1100. awful car, but did me for a couple of years until my insurance dropped :)

its bad though when you spend a pittance on a car and the insurance is like 3 or 4 times more expensive.

Yeah I had a Suzuki Swift! Bought it for like 700 then insured it for 1200!

Manged to get a years no claims then got insurance on a vtr for the same price.

Its expensive but as young drivers we are in no position to complain because they make the rules!

Ive been quoted 1900 fully comp at 18 for a 1.1i Saxo spree

Have you tried named drivers?
Also if you put your annual mileage down it should be cheaper

Also,
If you find another 17 year old girl with a provisional put her as a named driver,
It brings it down by miles!

That seems odd because any named driver who is 17 (regardless of sex) should increase the price, not decrease it lol
May just have had a lucky quote mate
