Hi everyone
Have had my 2003 VTR for a year now. Two things:
My three year service is now due - Citroen are quoting £280 for it. Can anybody recommend anywhere else who will do a good job? My local Hi-Q seem alright but just wondered if anybody has any bright ideas.
Secondly I've got an intermittent tapping noise in the engine. It happens when the engine is cold but continues when the engine has warmed up. The car has been into Citroen on two occasions and they couldn't find the fault (or hear the noise smileys/smiley13.gif ). I did an oil change and the problem disappeared for a week and then it came back. When the sound is present and I depress the clutch pedal the sound gets much quieter. So that leads me to believe there is something wrong with the clutch or gearbox. It's just out of warranty but a month so I'm hoping that if i can get it sorted they will be lenient (especially as they couldn't find the fault when it was in under warranty).
My drive is on a slope with the engine higher than the back. Whether that would make a difference - something draining away?? When i park at work (flat) i can hear the noise sometimes too. smileys/smiley5.gif
Any advice what it could be/what i should do would be greatly recieved. I am looking to sell it soon but i want to make sure everything is tip top before i do!
Cheers smileys/smiley4.gif
