16v White Panda Sold :n:

As some of you know, I have finally managed to find myself a white saxo! :)

I'm 18 and the white furio is my 6th car and 5th saxo. I had 3 VTR's, Mk5 Zetec S and a VTS but always wanted a white one. I found myself a white VTR which I did some work on up to page 7. I now found myself a white furio which is a lot cleaner than the VTR so I'll carry on with the same plans on the furio instead. Here's the link to my previous progress threads.. I have promised myself that this will be my last saxo so when this goes (which won't be anytime soon) I won't be getting another.

Hopefully, it will soon be 16v. I have a vts engine which was fully rebuilt 20k miles ago. Pretty much everything was replaced when it was rebuilt, including valves and head gasket. It has had a new cambelt just fitted and it is also fitted with some kent reground cams. The engine was RR'ed at 130bhp before the cams were fitted with just breathing mods so it's a pretty healthy engine :)

Planing a conversion on my vtr soon too. Il be interested to see how u get on. maybe go for some 266mm brakes on the front? Pretty cheap and essential even if you didnt run a turbo. Anyone would tell you the same. They still fit under 14" alloys too!

Just spent about 2 hours on the car with my mate. Fitted the smoked headlights, standard grill as I didn't like the full white grill, fitted a K&N and also removed a couple of stickers. I still need to swap the vts alloys over but I'll be doing that tomorrow.

Here are a few pictures I took today. It's already looking a lot better with the standard grill and smoked headlights fitted.

It needs a mega clean, need a headlight trim and the front bumper need re-adjusting as it's sitting a bit low.

I've got a smooth rear bumper which I was going to sell but have decided to keep it so it will be getting resprayed.

On Sunday I will also be going to Bath to see shannon-ob. We are going to fit a complete new dash and carpet as my dash looks tatty with bits missing and holes on it (done by previous owner) and also the carpet wasn't fitted properly so just decided to get a new one. Hopefully we will also be fitting a 3rd brake light and sunroof cover as they are missing.

I now have a lot of bits that were missing from the car and replaced the crap bits..

- New Dash
- Sorted out some of the interior loom as the wiring was completely f**** as the previous owner stripped the car and chopped a lot of wires off. I plan to get a complete new interior loom in the future but it's all good for now.
- Third break light
- Sun roof cover
- A new black carpet that's actually fitted properly unlike the old one
- Fitted the supersprint exhaust

Cheers mate. I'm trying to get things done but I'm finding loads of stuff wrong with the car from where the previous owner fucked about with it so much stripping it and that. The interior loom is pretty fucked, loads of wires have been chopped and stuff. I'll just have to get a complete new interior loom I think.

I might have to sell the vts engine as it's single plug and it's a total pain to convert it to 3 plug, I can't find anybody selling 3 plug sensors, loom, unlocked ecu, etc. I think I'll sell the engine and find a complete 3 plug vts conversion.

I also decided I want back seats so I'll look for a 106 Half Leather interior and plain black door cards.

No, it's not blowing, it does pop and bang.. nowhere near as much as my black vts but it does. Also, the exhaust is pretty much brand new so it needs to wear in mate.

He is now keeping it for a bit longer so it gives me a chance to find the parts needed.

Bad news on the car :n: I seriously have no luck with cars, when I finally find myself a car I want and think I can crack on with a project things starts to go wrong, hence why I haven't completed a full project on a car yet and always end up selling it, lol!

So, this morning the car wouldn't start.. looked like the battery was dead. My mate was round so we jump started it, now the car starts but sits at 3k revs on idle when not even touching the throttle, I have no idea why..

If you know what could be causing this I'd be very grateful if you could reply on my queries thread Clicky. (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=364776)

Car is now sorted! :) My mate is a mobile machanic and he came round this morning to have a look at it. We cleaned the ICV, throttle body and reset the ECU. Took the car for a 10 miles drive and it's idling perfect :y:

Still waiting for the post man to knock on my door with the Apex Kit so I can get it lowered tomorrow!

Thers no cracks in lens, no clips are broken or cracked.. Ther both perfect..

Update: me and a mate sorted some of the wiring behind the dash today as the previous owner bodged it hence why a lot of the stuff wasn't working properly. It's all working now, just need to tidy it up a bit more so we'll be doing that in the week.

There will be no more progress on the VTR until 25th March. I might be pxing it for a mates white furio (Jamsey) + cash his way, reason being, it has lower mileage (it's on 58k), bodywork is a lot tidier so all the progress so far will be moved on to the furio. Including, wheels and lowering.

I have a 3 plug unlocked ECU and 3 plug engine sensors on the way so the conversion will also be moved on to the furio.

I would mate but Borbets are way too heavy and chunky for fast road which is what I wana go for. The car will need to be LOW to make it look decent and that makes it unpractical.. I don't really wana go for euro because that would be a waste of a vts engine, cams, remap and bodies in the future!

If I went for euro I'd have to stick with the furio as it would be a waste of a vts engine and would end up selling the car as after having a vtr and vts there is no way I'm going to cope with the downgrade of a furio, lol.

If I put a vts lump in I'd have to drive slow if it was euro, you have no idea how shit the roads are in Bristol, haha!

I will trial fit my mates team dynamics, take some pics and decide then but yeah, to me the vts wheels look best at the moment but will have to see the team dynamics on the car :)

Yeah, it's a ballache mate. Well, the raceland mani is 16v so only when I get the conversion done.

A mate has a standard mk1 vtr mani which should fit on the furio so when I get home from work we will try to fit it, hopefully it will work and it will save me spending money which can go towards getting bits for the 16v conversion!

I know mate, spent £50 on a cat from a scrappy and hours trying to fit it and modify it as it was slightly different. Me and my mate got it all back together and in the end some bolts wouldn't go back in because the thread in the head got rounded off meaning my manifold now blows like a bitch because not all bolts are in. I'm going over to a mobile mechanic on Sunday and he will re-thread the head for the bolts that are missing and hopefully that will fix it and won't have to spend anymore until the conversion gets done.

Just had to order:

- All new bolts and nuts for the manifold
- New gasket
- New exhaust fitting kit
- Tap kit so that we can get the head re-threaded

Total: £115, including buying the cat to fix the thing :n: such a pain as I'm doing the conversion on it soon but had to be done.

I'll take more pictures once I've given it a clean :)

Went to Citroen today and picked up the bits I need to get the car fixed this weekend..

- All new bolts and nuts for the manifold

After over 2 months trying to find one, my mate (Simon0014) managed to find me a 3 plug VTS loom.

All I need to get for the conversion now is:

- Coilpack
- Driveshafts
- Fuel return
- Throttle cable
- Clutch

All these can be bought new so next pay I will be ordering everything :y:

Slow progress this month due to the car breaking, etc.. :n:

I got the car back on Sunday. It didn't get lowered as my mate had to re-thread the head and drill 2 threads out as they snapped inside the head :n: The exhaust still blowing slightly but I can't be bothered to deal with it as the VTS conversion should be taking place soon.

The car will definitely get lowered this weekend!

Ah, that's why I see your car most days then. Yeah, I did see the masking tape a little while ago, haha.

That's fair enough then mate. The 16v barely makes a difference to be honest.. I've had a vts and 3 vtr's and petrol was about the same if driven sensibly. It's economical if you want it to be but you can also have fun when you want to put your foot down :P so you get the best of both worlds!

BIG NEWS!

This weekend was full of ups and downs. The car never got lowered fully due to me being messed around by this guy, only the front got done and he let me drive off in the car without telling me my drop links needed replacing so the suspension was knocking. The car is going back to him tomorrow to get the front suspension sorted and new drop links fitted. The rear still hasn't been lowered so I'm getting half my money back from him.

Now for the Good news..

I have just paid a deposit for a Black Mk2 VTS, it's a 3 plug engine with 100k on the clocks but a very very tidy car! (Yes this is now my 6th Saxo and 7th Car). This will be a donor car for my conversion, I will be taking everything I need off of it to get my conversion done and then selling a few bits.

I'll be taking:

Interior
Smoked Jewels
Driveshafts
Brakes
Rear Beam which is already lowered 50mm
Fuel return
Maybe a few extra bits

So now I have all the stuff needed for the conversion + a few extra bits.

Once everything has been taken off and my conversion has been done my mate (Reechard) will be keeping the shell, engine and everything else left on the car and turning it in to a track project!

No pictures today but tomorrow I'll take a few pictures of the car with the front lowered so you guys can see how it's sitting :y:

The car got sorted today, new drop links etc. Me and my mate will be fitting the rear beam from the black vts on Sunday.

Went over to my mates today and done a couple of things..

- Sprayed + Fitted 106 Wing Mirrors
- Sprayed Chevrons
- Fitted Smoked Fogs

Looks miles better imo.

The front suspension still needs sorting.. It bottoms out when going over bumps and it shouldn't do as it's only lowered 50mm :n:

Very good head unit, would definitely recommend it. Just need a better set of component speakers now. Not too fussed about sub, etc.

Basically, when I got the car it was nothing like one of the previous owners had described it. The interior wiring was chopped to bits when the car was previously stripped, the alternator was shot, the battery was dead, the exhaust was blowing like mad and all rusty but as you can see most of the problems have been sorted mate. The only reason I got rid of it was, it was constantly going wrong and I just lost interest in it.

Well, I've had a Zetec S, 1 Furio, 3 VTR's and 2 VTS's and I'm only 18, lol. I can't cope with 8v power, need 16v in my life again and got other big plans for the engine.

BAD NEWS!

I got messed around by Liam on here. Paid deposit for the Black VTS and he has now sold the car to someone else and refunded my deposit. I had cancelled orders and lots of other stuff due to no longer needing the parts as I was going to take everything off the car and also paid car transport to pick the car up.

Pissed off is an understatement.

I know mate, I'm so pissed :( delayed my conversion big time.

I found out yesterday why my suspension is banging.. Scott took my bump stops out when he lowered the car, apparently they need to be cut down to fit but he should of done that in the first place not just completely take them out.

Going back Monday to get it done also need to go down to Radstock to get the rear lowered.

Just collected a 3 plug 16v coil pack from euro car parts..

The list of parts needed for the conversion is getting smaller and smaller :)

- Engine + Gearbox Mounts
- Driveshafts
- New clutch
- Air filter
- Fuel Return
- Throttle cable

Also, my ECU is getting sent to Blue Hawk Electronics today to be tested and get unlocked.

The car is booked in to get the rear lowered on Thursday. Also, it's going back to the guy who lowered the front on Friday to get my bump stops fitted as he removed them (don't ask me why) he also managed to put a dent on my passenger wing when he lowered it by leaning on it. So pissed off with this guy, just want this sorted and my car is never going back to him again.

I apologise if im wrong, but isn't the Furio-16v conversion a real bastard? Im sure I have heard the Loom's ain't a direct fit and need a bit/alot of modifications before it will fire up.

Oh, if you still need Driveshafts then I have a almost new Passenger Side Shaft, PM me with a offer :)

Never heard of this? As long as both looms are the same plug and matches the interior loom there shouldn't be a problem I don't think. JRC1 did his conversion and I think it was a straight fit so I'll ask him.

I still need to find out if I need tappered or non tappered drive shafts so I'll give you a PM once I've found out :)

The car is now fully lowered, just need my bump stops put back on. Me and a mate also removed the aerial and fitted some dark Mk1 rear lights. More pictures coming once the car has been cleaned.

I bought a valeo clutch kit almost 2 weeks ago but it seems to have gone lost in the post so looks like I'll have to order another. Also, ordering driveshafts on Friday and that is all I need to get the conversion done! :y:
