can anyone help me? i did the conversion to a vts yesterday but now my central locking aint working. its a 97vtr with a keykode immobiliser. i had to unplug a little grey box frum under the passenger dash which had something to do with the keypad so that i could run the engine without using it but i dont know if i was supposed to plug it back in? smileys/smiley5.gif

is it this or is it something else do you think? what are the possibilities?

just kinda in a rush to get it sorted as i cant lock my boot now at all due to the key not fitting in properly. i can lock the dorrs with the door pins.

cheers dan

hmm. dont think the locking has anything to do with the engine, have you not banged the central locking unit while doing the conversion ?.....how much did your conversion cost you. if you dont mind me asking. did you do it your self or get a garage ?

cost 400 for the engine, wiring loom gearbox and ecu. thats all!!! no more expenses apart fron 2litres of gearbox oil!!!

yeah did it with my dad. took ust over 6 hours which is pretty good for a 1st time i thought!

i know it wont have ote to do with the engine but it might have been that little grey box which i think is kinda the main brain for te keypad immobiliser!

central locking box is under passenger side dash, i wasnt aware mk1s with keypad had an immob box, they were all in the keypad, so d/c the keypad is sufficient.

yes, the alarm/central locking box doesnt play any part in the immobiliser system.
