Hey well im new to this but here goes....

this is my saxo as it currently stands a 2002 vts in wicked red with only 33,000 miles! (and almost entirely original when I bought it)

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb389/pvts/saxperience.jpg

Anyway some t**t overtook me in fog and spun her into some trees, so having the boot and right wheel arch repaired on wednesday, which also gave me the excuse to start modding it.
Starting with the 15" white pro race 1.2s with toyo tires, and a 3" saxsport exhaust (rasps bangs pops etc sounds great) however whoever put the last exhaust on has totally messed with the exhaust hangers if anyone can send me a pic of what they should look like in relation to the back box i can get the exhaust in the right place.
while in the body shop im also getting the bump strips colour coded :), and straight after that is a -40 spax adjustable kit going on.
Im also intending to service it, k+n gen2? and a top strut brace money permitting.

if anyones got some opinions on new rear lights mine were shattered, preferably smoked or something.

lastly my vts alloys are for sale if someone wants to recondition them, bubbled paint and two tires got ripped off in the crash..

Very nice :) What happened in the accident? I'm not quite getting how someone overtook you in fog, spun off the road but your car got damaged

Not many of the low mile ones left now :y:. How much that set you back?

he overtook just before a virtually 90 degree bend clipped my front arch ripped that off, trying to pull in at the last second, my back end slid out i tried to correct it and get round the bend but i just did a full 360 the other direction and through a barbed wire fence and into a little forest.

and now onto the really bad news it cost me £2000 to buy after i knocked him down quite abit, and atleast i got 12 months tax, mot and a service thrown in.

That's a really good price mate! Shame about the accident mate :/

Anyway the car looks great mate! But instead of colour coding the bumpstrips, maybe have them gloss black?

Also the rear lights, either MK1 standard lights or smoked jewels?

pvts
7th February 2011, 10:03
i did think about it but iv seen a colour coded one before and looks really modern in the red, as for the lights yeah they look really nice should suit it, match with a set of smoked headlights?

also whats the difference between the mk1 and mk2 lights?

Right going into the body shop on the 9th, so heres some more "before" pics. I also bought the k+n and strut brace today. off to get some oil etc and a torx screw driver set in abit then thats me officially skint for a year

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb389/pvts/saxperience1.jpg

Rear 3/4 showing horrible arch gap, exhaust still in wrong place (definetely prefer the 3" over the 2" fills the bumper moulding perfectly.. atleast it will )
also note the lense repair tape and packaging tape covering the deepest scratches. atleast Iv got a wheel arch back on now just needs some tidying up.

And from the side I really think the red and white works can't wait to see it lowered :)

anyway comments opinions?

Lower it, de-wiper the back, t-cut the badges. Cheap mods that will change the look nicely.

40mm spax kit waiting to go on before end of the month, not sure about the de-wiper tho I live in an area with alot of muddy lanes. what does t-cut do to the badges?

T-cut will lift the paint off the badges and they will be black underneath, looks good but also gives you a ground to start off in spraying them in another colour if want to do that

Nice car, will look alot better when it's lowered and colour coded though. looking foward to seeing the pics of it done.

Strutbrace came so that was fitted this morning

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb389/pvts/saxperience3.jpg

Tightened to the point my arm almost broke off it does make a hell of a difference, corners id normally start to under-steer on the front end gripped and pulled round still, and turn in is so much sharper (thanks to whoevers post I read it off to tighten the brace)

On the same thread of a road test, lightweight alloys everything possible is better about driving now, part of thats probably to do with the toyos but it does seem to ride alot more comfatable since changing alloys too :)

And the saxsport I honestly can't believe how much extra usable power it gives you, but then again my old exhaust was pretty much wtf have they done?

Anyway last pic, I so need some neon lights (p.s. I don't care if you don't like them Im modding my car if I wanted it to be like every other car on the road I would have bought a grey astra :) )

http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb389/pvts/respray.jpg

100% better than those black plastic bits

dent repair, scratches from glass removed, new front right arch + boot and bumper respray and colour coded. £260 :D

Just needs a proper clean and detail now... well after the spax kit is fitted.

Coming along nicely mate. Personally I would colour code and mesh your front grill, remove 16v badges, t-cut rear badges as mentioned, maybe some 106 GTI mirrors? Shouldn't break the bank either but the little things can make a big difference collectively.

pvts
15th February 2011, 11:28
thanks, grill will be done at some point, wouldnt mind the gti mirrors and the leather interior but no idea where to get either of them. plus im totally spent up for a little while now. got about £100 left lol

Well its in (absolute bitch to fit) got it for £50 instead of the near as make no difference £200 because the box was abit squashed.

can't really tell if it makes much difference, revs abit easier thats for sure red lines abit quick now...

noise if it makes any below full throttle i cant hear, not over the saxsport anyway, but has a satisfyingly angry burst of sound at full.

Usually I really dislike colour coded cars but I quite like this, think its because it has the white wheels, sets it off nice :)

As someone else said a colour coded grille would be good along with 16v badges off. Personally would smoke the lights as well.

Well work kind of came to a miserable end today. thanks to a rusted solid rear axle, wouldn't have expected that on a car with low milege but I guess the water just soaks in anyway. ordered some arch clips to fix the body kit back in place once and for all hopefully. and am now madly chasing round for a new rear axle. lets hope I can get it sorted before the end of the week :/
