EK's are my fave shape, looking at getting an EK4 this year. For a decent EK, you will be looking to pay at least £2.5K.

Saying that i had a drive in it and other than the wierd driving position seemed a lil nicer that a saxo.

1.4's are NOT VTEC. I had a 1.5 non-vtec coupe EJ and it shoved off a fair few cars although if your aiming to move up in the car world go for a 1.6 VTEC motor. They really are a bargain of a car especially the older ones. Good EK's go for around £2000.

106bhp, but still very nippy. The D16Y7, D16Z6 and D15B engines all have aprox 130bhp and weigh around 1000kg. Quite a match for any VTS

the one i posted is in mint condition....

hes had the shell for something like 13 + years.... restored it, painted it a few colours etc.... and its had multiple engine changes from N/A to turbo and back again and soon to be turbo'd again

EP3's may be quite common, but are normally more tastfully modified and driven thorugh Halfrauds less than EK's as the cost more to mod / buy / insure.

Its fair to say that Hondas are probably one of the best bang for buck sportscar makers.

I have had quite a few, I bought my second EP3 type-r after selling my S2000. There is a reason that there are so many EP3's out there, because they make one of the best value propositions which is also the reason that the FN2 has outsold every other hot hatch since 2007.

The combination of reliability, power, noise, economy and handling cannot be matched for the £££.

The EG's and EK's are OLD now. Most of them have rust and are tired, one of my friends had an EK9 type-r then a DC2. EK9 sounded good and was quite nippy with an exhaust and induction but it was tiring to live with and felt old, the same with his DC2.

I would say if you can stretch your budget buy an EP3. In the long term it will be cheaper in terms of parts needing replaced. After 30K miles of hammering my S2K only needed new brake pads/tyres and servicing, same with the EP3 type R.

If you cannot afford the type-r, with the insurance etc then look at a sport - my neighbour has one and loves it, although he longs for 8500 rpm.

That being said, Saxo's are quite fun and comparatively very cheap to run & maintain, although I think they were made for midgets as my size 11's struggle in the footwell.

Just my thoughts.

EJs are US models, I believe.

Aye, I know that, mate's got an EJ Coupe. But i'm pretty sure, despite being a UK model it was built in the US, opposed to the UK/Japan. And EJ hatches are USDM only, aren't they? Over here, they're EKs.

Coupes have red chassis plates with "made in japan" on where the coupes have blue ones with "made in USA" from what I've seen..

EG6, is a vti. should come with a b16a2..which is 160bhp yes. the 1.8 that you are refferring to is either (the more common ones) a b18c4 which is in the mb6, or its a b18c6 which is in the integra type r.. both have more than 160bhp
