Hi all can't make up my mind :s

Black 200sx or black/artic vxr???

I know most if you are goin to say probs rwd lol but not to bothered as not alot of places to Drift ere without goin on track n police as harsh as fuck :(

I think corsa will be more comfy n will last longer :)

But I know if I buy one over the other I will see the other at traffic lights n wish I got one of them :( lol

one of my mates did have a corsa VXR, was nippy as fuck! 1.6turbo iirc! Nice cars, but his went wrong all the time. Not sure if it was coz its french or because he drove it like he stole it :S

The Corsa VXR in arctic white.. I thought them 200sx (turbo version of course) were fast (like same league as the 3.0l twin turbo supra or something which is ridiculously quick).

Turns out they aren't :D.

Those are very flattering examples of the 200sx whereas the Corsa is stanard, I agree those are nicer ofc.. but they've also had a lot of work.

Then again.. it's a strange comparison.. Is he talking about buying a brand new VXR hatchback for mega money or an old shitter of a 200 for peanuts or a decent 200 for decent money :S. Also one's a FWD hatchback the others... not..

Corsa is about 190bhp and lighter so after a remap probably wont be far off the Astra in terms of Power to Weight

yeah true, if you want to re map it so in standard form the astra would be for me, plus i prefer the look of the astra, i would seriously consider selling my diesel for the sri deisel150 but would have to have the xp kit on, also my car and the astra share the same deisel engine! :y:

I obviously don't appreciate old cheap turbo's, bar the real cars i.e. Scoobies Evo's / Skylines and as i'm stressed about my uni essays I may aswell moan in here:)

I'd sooner be seen in a Saxo than a 200sx.

To me it's just an old barge that's been made cool because it's very affordable or why else would you buy one unless an enthusiast or either that or it's what you can afford kinda like the Saxo... please tell me it's not in the same price range as a Corsa VXR LOL

I also can't stand the German 1.8T bandwagon, it's cheap, and young peeps get a bonner out them because they can be made quick, but ultimately that's why you got it, it's owt special like the little cheap french hatches.

Seriously had people actually believe that I cared that their silly little 1.8T could keep up with my Focus ST when I had it, pretty sure they believed it was in the same league too, but they forgot just one thing, they couldn't afford a ST.

I know someone with a Corsa VXR who has had constant problems with it and I'd never buy one and glad that guy at Vauxhall messed me around. It's a shame really because they are very nice looking cars, and on paper look quick!

have you thought about a mazda 3 mps, they are very under rated and look much better in real life than in pics (not much different from the hatch back scooby if you get an MPS with aero kit). the 2.3L turbo engine isn't to be sniffed at either

The Corsa is a nice car, but I don't think I could live with one.

The steering wheel is HUGE on them. I've also had issues turning out of junctions in them, even with low power the wheels seem to spin! They are fast though, had great fun when I had a go with one.

@ the time, it was 23k new Top of the range ST3 in EO, and i'm not really fussed, because these German hatches for one weren't anywhere near new, infact quite the opposite, on average 7 years older, further to this IMO they are wayyyyy overpriced when new anyway.

For me it was more the fact my car was newer, & much better equipped, infact just a better car imo and they were trying so hard because they were jelous.

Wroooooooong actually, If I didn't decide to do the below, It would still have gone but for better...

I got shot of it because I hated my job and wanted to go to university, I sold it and bought a banger Mk5 ZS, got bored sold that bought a 03 Vts, done too many miles, dont want to ruin it so bought another 206 Gti 180, which at uni isn't too bad... but would I be driving it if I was earning a wage still, erm nope i'd be in a Z4M or something more grown up.

Yeh agree, still at least I had my fun, I started uni @ 22, i'm 23 now and i'll be 25 by the time I get out, and hopefully by 26 i'll have a well paid job, a nice little place to live and a half decent motor (nothing amazing unless i'm rolling in it) then just spend money on holidays:)

Personally i wouldnt get either , i would be looking at GTR'S, 300 zx's etc, im sorry but i just wouldnt spend all that money on a VAUXHALL! when you can clearly do so much better for less money, i also fail to see how the corsa is stunning to look at, imo i think it looks tacky and chavved up, all down to personal preference though mate.:y:

Cheap to buy if you get a ragged one thats falling to bits and been round the world several times.

They aren't cheap to insure at all, a 200sx is insurance group 18 whereas the corsa is group 16 and both cars have a turbo, I dont see where you are coming from at all.

a corsa in general yes, maybe not so much a vxr.. and definitely not an 200sx.. as far as i know, theres around 3 - 4 corsa vxr's in livingston, and 1 s14.. and the s14 is owned by my mate..

Well yeah Corsa's in general do have a bad rep.But then again so does any small hatch thats cheap to insure as a 1st car @ 17(using the term "cheap" loosely here lol).

And from what i see on a day to day basis,EP3's and Saxo's seem to be the worse around here.And its not just the younger generation.I would say between 21-30,they all get driven at silly RPM in built up area's.

With the price of EP3's falling fast,they are becoming the car for idiots.

There is 2-3 Corsa VXR's around here,i know 1 of the owners,and they dont get driven like the above.

Living in a area surrounded by council estates means a few of my mates you could class as chavs, they've owned everything from rusty lexis lighted EG civics to classic scoobs with good power, two of them had 200sx's..

Between a 200sx worth 10 grand (read - looks like the ones posted in here) and the VXR it's much closer.. I change my tune, but then you see that pic of someone binning their 200sx which I imagine is easily done.. Also re-sale.. VXR will hold it's value better than a modded 200sx which will be worth fuck all despite how much you plough into it.. Looks and fun wise I'd probably go 200sx now, practicality, toys and comfort as well as reliability I'd go with the VXR. I also think a really nice modded 200sx would be more special to drive and own.

I gotta agree with this. The amount of people that wank over the 1.8T range on here is ridiculous.

Haha nothing personal :p It's true though people love the 1.8T range on here. I love VAG's and its obviously a popular engine choice for a reason but I just feel that there are other cars that should be considered for similar money :)
