There the same mate, Some GTI engines will be lower mileage i would've thought But theres no difference between them :y:

so do gti,s.
they are the same engine m8.
or you could go for a lower mileage c2 engine, but its a little more involved fitting, and there not as strong as the j4

Most GTis don't actually have the oil/water heat exchanger. :p
Although, it's not difficult to get hold of one. So if you come across a cheap enough GTi engine, but are worried about that, it's no bother.

I was thinking this but Matt is a retard so I refused to reply :A:
Sure they had a full tank and more people in one or something.
If you're buying the whole car not the engine you have a gti if you want to be classed as less of a chav and have insurance a group lower (might of changed since they were regrouped). You buy a saxo if you want to save 500quid on exactly the same spec car.

I thought the saxo was lighter and it had a slightly closer gear ratio from 1st to 2nd. No facts though could be bollocks just what i have read :)

saxo is marginally lighter, gearbox's are the same though, and tbh the difference in weight can be counteracted by driving with less fuel in the tank and no maccy d boxes in the footwell innit

ahhh i wondered all this time what slowed me down, i'll get rid of the maccy d boxes and the car will now fly initt :y:

This is a borderline dumb question
Do they use the same mounting points etc?
Could you swap them directly?
Im assuming yes, but no harm in asking

There is no difference whatsoever. Not even a slight difference. Now GTFO.
Jamie

Only real difference is the shell & the GTi has a thicker arb IIRC
Either way, by now you'll get good examples and extremely bad of both.

We have already discussed standard gti doesn't have McDonalds wrappers in footwell therefore is lighter, maybe those faster ones you have seen didn't have even a pack of chewing gum or fags in them. :S

Talking of Hondas I read a manual for one ones it was proper amusing.
Loads of crap in it like don't adjust thing while driving, wear your seatbelt or you might be injured or worse (erm worse wait you're already driving a Honda.)
