Hello again, Sax-p!
So after about a year of being off the road, I went and picked up a 2002 Saxo from South Wales. The chassis had covered 94,300, but the VTS engine that was dropped into it by Ricky-P has only covered around 54,000 miles.
The original owner (Frankay) wanted £2,500 for it, but we agreed on a lump sum of 2,000 in the end. The Saxo had 11month MOT, but no Tax, so I immediately stuck a years TAX on her for £155.00.

I have no idea, all of a sudden I noticed my fuel decreasing VERY quickly! I rolled into a garage and could smell a strong stench of fuel, I popped the bonnet and turned the ignition on and fuel was spraying up onto the head!
But yeah, she should be sorted by tomorrow fingers crossed.

I have no idea, I'd say around 2 years ago? The conversion was already done before me and Frankay owned the car.

I had the same after i had my 16v conversion down the injector seal decided to leak, i lost quarter of a tank driving 5 mins down the road and the engine bay was caked in petrol but it did me a favour and cleaned the engine down lol.

It's so annoying! How much did you pay to get the problem fixed?

I got a set of second hand injectors for £20 and tried one at a time until i found what one was leaking, it fitted them myself its pretty easy but there are 2 different types, the difference is in the injector wiring loom the colour of the wires. I got a quote on a new injector and it was £80 odd +vat!!

Ah' Right, so it looks like I'm looking at a pretty large garage bill! Especially if they're buying new parts! I also got it booked in for a service, I have no idea how much this garage charges for a service.
Hopefully she'll be running smooth as a nut, though.

Yeah mate, everything else is pretty sound. Sorting the rear arch out tomorrow and trying to find somebody who will lower the torsion bar for me! Tbh, not a lot of garages want to touch the torsion bar, I've been to about 5 now and nobody will touch it!
I've tried to PM Willsy, but haven't received a reply as of yet.

Yea tbh mate theres hardly any garages that will do them, And even if they do they will only do the notch method which is incorect! Hope everything else is good!

The Saxo has not been running very healthy while cold, so while it's in the garage on Thursday it's also going to under go a full service. Also picked up some Xantia 283mm disks which will also be going to in an attempt to get rid of the squeel that my Brembo's give off!

So the car went in to today for its service. The breaks also got done, but the disks were the wrong offset for some reason?! So they took the Brembo's off and greases them up and cleaned them ect.
BAD BIT:
They were unable to lower the rear due to the rear beam being shagged, the bearings were all smashed apparently. So, I'm going to need a new beam. I was lead to believe the beam on it was recently put on to get though an MOT.. But I don't know. Anyways, I'm buying a Re-furbed one for £360 from IM_axlesa in the next couple of days.

No offence but this car sounds rough mate! Unlucky, must be frustrating as you've only just got it. Hopefully you'll restore it to good order though.

Okay so today I gave her a good clean and polish. Also started work on cleaning up the engine bay. I'll post some photo's later.
My plans are:
Replace the front bumper (Widemouth)
Get the bump strips sprayed by a bodyshop in gloss black.
Carbon door pillers.
Carbon wing mirror caps.
Smoked rear jewels.
Cams, Predator ECU.
Re-paint the rear callipers in red.
Wax the underneath of the car (Rust protecter)
Re-ajust the exhaust
Carbon ECU cover.
Heat wrap the manifold.

By which garage mate? I use draycot engineering in Didcot, and there's a bodyshop next door. My mate Jamie currently has his Throttle Bodied 106 GTI in there undergoing a full re-spray. I'll get a quote at some point this week and let you know.
