New member here, Just bought a saxo VTS tonight, all seems ok with it a lady owner had it for the passed 11 years and its only clocked 68,000 not tooo bad ;)

Just have a few noobie questions.

You know the 16v badges can you remove them are they stick on?

How are the engines in them pritty solid (just incase its had some hammer in its life lol)

have a read of all the diff sections/search as it will help

But the 16v badges do come off, then just need to remove the glue pads beneath them.

Engines are fine if looked after, same as the gearboxes (which only morons compain about)

Cheers for the reply sounds good, I was actually surprised how quick the vts was...

So by looked after you mean make sure water, oil is always topped up and maintain services?

jarp, as with any car look after it and it shouldnt cause you alot of hassle. Never know buying used though

Yeah i was actually worried about buying this to be honest, Everything does seem really good, deffo no low power problems! You can never be so sure though!

Nah seriously J4 16v engines are very strong.
I went round croft in my GTI with no coolant (didnt know this at the time)

Hammered it and engine was fine, went on to make 130bhp

For its age its in stunning condition theres a little stone chip thats it.

Belts I think are supposed to be done at 70k so you're fine.

The thing is with saxo ownership is everyone will slag you off but nobody has actually chucked one around a corner and had a laugh which is what they are great for!

My VTS is on 115,000 and still using the original engine, clutch and gearbox with no problems at all.

I'ts been driven hard, but well looked after when it comes to oil changes etc. :y:
