it takes the piss all cars use the same amount of road and same amount of wear on the tarmac and yet we get taxed on emission's takes this piss in this country rather rape you than fix the roads.

Anything registered post March 2001 is subject to tax depending on emissions
Anything before this date is done using engine size

Bentley's are literally in the £1000s to tax. Suppose that's nothing if you owned a Bentley though..

Nothing costs over £500 a year to tax. The high numbers are the so called "show room tax" or first year tax, the rate the car pays in it's first year. After that the tax goes down. The maximum yearly tax is just over £400

I'd rather pay my tax and not be disabled
All cars pre 2001 and bigger or equal to 1.6 engine pay the same tax, all engines smaller pay the same.
So Gibbo, your e36 is the same as a Saxo VTR. As it is a VTS, and a V8 Jag, etc etc
It's unfair, so they changed it in 2001.

its the government they don't think about that sort of thing until its too late.
they will end up taking it out of something vital like the NHS or telling the kids at school they have to pay to learn how to count.

Car tax is cheaper now in relative terms than it used to be.
Look at this photo I took the the other day from an escort, the tax disc expired 22 years ago cost £55 for 6 months

I dont mind paying to keep the roads sorted/maintained etc but thier are still hundreds of potholes around my area from the winter snow/frost and some are HUGE ! But its all about the money for the government
