If you do buy a 340 don't get one with a welded diff if you using it for a daily car because you will go through so many tyres, the bump around and feel like the wheels are coming off when turning at low speed/reversing and you will go sideways everywhere whether you like it or not.

Basicly:
Welded diff + daily drive = pain in the ass

MiniGibbo
13th February 2011, 16:22
If all you use it for is skidding which is what im guessing you do, why not sorn it and buy a car trailer for £500..

wigansaxo
13th February 2011, 16:32
naa its my daily aswell, did think about getting a trailer though so i could take the sierra about but you need a licence

I got a quote for my saxo and a 340, to insure both of them is cheaper for just my saxo.
Yes that's right the volvo has negative insurence :y:

You didn't have to buy the volvo to pay for the cover. Could of done it anyway if it was cheaper.

insurance i fu*king strange aint it, i mean 3k for a 4 door 1.8 sierra and 300 for a 1.7l 3 door 340  i dont mind driveing a 0ld volvo while i wait for the inurance to go dow, and i would finally be able to take the ierra off the road and work on it in summer with some good weather :y:

I had a quote for a 200sx s13 (1.8T) last year for £1,450 so I decided to save because I really want to start drifting and this year, same car was £3,875 so glad I didn't buy the car then find insurence.

I had a 340 DL as my first car, they were so much fun. I even bought another years later as a temporary shed. I'd have loved the GLT, but even the 1.4 engine in the DL was able to get your back end out at any opportunity. Ugly as sin but fun and very safe. I hit a car that could not stop in time for me on a round about, his bumper flew 50m down the road in front of me, I got out and looked at the damage, and I had suffered only a scratch to my bumper, he needed a new wing and bumper. I'd love one agian just to rag round a grass field track!!!

Not a 340 but my mate has just bought an 850 T-5R Estate. Quick as fuck. Running around 320bhp at the minute and would give many things a run for their money.

Only made 2500 of them and 200 for the UK. He paid £800 Bargin

Yeah, should be there, just gotta sort out a sticky brake issue (should be heading off to get a new caliper in the morning), provided the track time's not all used up, i'll be out there, showing those drift boys how to go round a track without drifting.
