Then look at this receipt from the only seriously decent country in the world: Switzerland:

£1 = CHF1,41 odd, so cheap meal there ;)
Oh, and check out this CHF49.400 ring in the window of a shop:

Not quite £30 ;)
We were looking for a steak house, but everywhere was like £60 each :panic:
Was desparate for something to each, so just nipped in for a nibble ;)

What is that a serious price? What does that equate to in our money?

Yeah, I actually totally agree with you there.
The main problem was time, we were only there 10 hours, and at this point we'd tried looking for a decently priced place. Time was against us, so we had to have something.
I paid £4,20 for a Coke and a Mars bar. Gotta love Switzerland!

£8,86 for the McChicken Meal and £7,87 for the Nugget meal.
So double what they are in this country (I think..?)

Surely its relevant to what they earn over there though? Or is take away type food just silly expensive to stop them all being fat?

Pretty sure Switzerland is one of, if not the most expensive countries in the world. Fuel is ridiculously pricey. Schumacher lives there, says it all really!

I asked the guy who owned the 197 I spotted there about that. Yes they earn more, but they don't have as much left over. So the net effect is it is more expensive than here for residents.
Fuel was CHF1,74 per litre so £1,23 a litre!

Yes and no.
VAT is 8%
You don't pay tax if you are a foreign national living there (but not a citizen). uite complicated, but after a certain length of time, you do have to pay tax!
