I cleaned my alloys for the first time since christmas and I thought this morning I need a wheel cleaner because they were black covered in brake dust and tar spots. So because I didnt have much money I went to my local parts shop and had a look at their wheel cleaners and it was a toss up between ag clean wheels, car plan wonder wheels and car pride wheel cleaning set (which was £4). So I had there cheapest wheel cleaner and had low expectations didnt expect anything more than the average shampoo wheel wash. And oh was I suprised it took a while to clean them because they are multi spokes and you have to apply with a brush but after 15 minutes I had 4 very clean wheels they were near enough as new they had the small tar spot here and there but oh my word for £4 it was amazing I think. Has anyone else used this and how effective is bilberry dilluted 1:3?

I have used the AG clean wheels before and thought it was ok, i used it precariously as its an acidic cleaner and can do damage if left on for to long. Never heard of the other products you mentioned. IMO Bilberry wheel cleaner is the dogs mate and well worth the investment!

I find discaler is good for ridding break dust and shit from wheels, but if left on to long will kill your alloys.

My standard VTR alloys where completely black, looked asthough they had been powerder coated black by a pissed old man with his eyes closed, popped some discaler on, within 5 seconds they wheels turned to a white foam like colour literally run the jetgun left to right and they were gleaming

finished off with a little coat wax just to enhance the shine

Bilberry or Megs Wheel cleaner will suffice.

Bilberry is fantastic, I have used this since day 1, but there are others out there, Duragloss 812 All Wheel Cleaner is amazing stuff and i reverted to that for a long time, until my tester ran out, but ill definately be getting more when i visit them.

now I have been told that bilberry is the muts nuts but I cant really imagine some non acidic spray on stuff is going to be better that some acidic stuff that you have to apply with a brush has anyone got any pictures of their uses with bilberry and I could do with a good bodywork polish to be used by hand and not to abrasive

oh ye big problem for women around here is the kurbs keep getting wider and posts keep jumping out at them

that bilberry seems like the way to go would you suggest adding a dash of tardis to the bilberry, water mix to help getting baked on tar off.

I would stick with Bilberry, if that doesnt shift everything, then opt of IronX, really is fantastic....You could consider an acid base wheel cleaner, but dont leave on for too long....soo far between Bilberry and IronX I have not had any problems yet, and i have detailed a ton of cars.
