Hi all,

New to the site, been driving for four months, had my saxo for 6 months now, its a Citroen Saxo Desire 04.
Came across this site while looking for a guide for fixing my exhaust centre pipe and now I'm interesting in the doing a bit of styling work to the car, felt this was a good place to start, so brace yourself for some questions.

Above the wheel arch on the passenger side there is some rusting going on, wondering what my options on that front are?
Would prefer to get it all sorted and covered, but that may be expensive.
If that is too expensive I'd want to look at at least preventing any more, although this may be difficult, so any advice?

Looking to change my gear knob and hand brake aswell.
I read on here to get the rubber cover off the hand brake a stanley knife is needed is this the case?
Also will any generic handbrake cover for a saxo fit?
As for the gear knob I've read how you remove that on here, but where can I get the size from?

Any advice on seat covers, as I bought some and they don't fit over the headrests?

How hard is it to change the lights in the dash aswell, might stick some blue ones in?

Sorry for all the questions guys, been browsing around the forum and all these things came to mind.

Cheers though

Seat covers generaly look crap. Buy some vtr/s seats instead, won't cost more than £50.
Get a vtr/vtr gearnob and gaiter, cost about £10 and it's black leather.
Wouldn't bother with the handbrake cover, it's does require cutting off and replacements tend to look like cheap chavy crap.
I would get the rust treated and welded at a garage then just paint over it to protect it.

Yeah I know they don't look great, but really wanted to protect the seats more than anything,

Any idea of a ball park figure for the rust before I get some quotes?
Guess you'd need a photo tbh, i'll get one tomorrow.
But for the minutes its around the wheel arch, and at the bottom of the same panel, if that makes any sense.

Impossible to quote a price without a pic of the size of the rust patch as you said. When you say around the wheel arch do you mean on the outside!? Front or back too?
