sub + amp wiring

I currently have two headunits. A kenwood KDC-237 and a sony one (not sure of the model number atm). I am interested in a sub and amp and may already have one lined up. How would I wire them up? As i've heard they don't have the correct connectors on the back. Do I need an adapter? Where would I get it from? Thanks

If the head units that you have now done have pre outs on the back of them you are probably better off selling those 2 then buying a used head unit (pioneer are my favourite) with pre outs on the back. Then you can connect the amp to the head unit and the sub to the amp :)
