HTC desire.
always wanted one but couldnt justify the premium of owning one.
seriously though used both and HTC pisses on apple. just look at the specs !!

HTC mate i have the htc desire and my boss who has the iphone 4 is selling it to get the htc. he has not got on with the iphone and it wont stream video on web sites like the htc and you can also use the htc as a wirless hotspot for your laptop if you have one. i have had htc phone for the last 3 years and i love them.

The HTC is the best phone, but I would get an iphone just because its an iphone lol

Depends tbh, I would not get the Desire HD. I have the normal desire, and thats perfect for what I want. Battery life, depending on usage, I can get it too last the day, but if your playing angry birds with WiFi and mobile signal on and screen brightness on 100%, expect the battery to dwindle away rapidly! Saying that, it's the same scenario with any smart phone. Also on the Desire HD it is slightly bulkier, but it makes a difference.
The iPhone is stunning to look and, but your stuck in the apple way of things, which pisses me off, so I would end up Jail-breaking it, which tbh on my next contract I am gonna do. Unless I root my android phone and i'm amazed with that.
Out of the box, iPhone 4. But if your fed up with the same old apple bullshit and want to get ahead of the game in terms of features, then HTC.

interesting reading about the HTC
I've been looking for an alternative to the I phone,
I've got a 32gb 3GS that's out of contract in 4 months after 2 years O2 contract.
firstly I don't want to stay with O2 as the 3G coverage with them is worst in the whole country, I don't receive 3G signal for 95% of the places I go to, in 2011 that's piss poor, orange, voda and three all have 3G in the areas though!
I'm happy in general with the iPhone but the flash player not being compatible and the music and blue tooth aswell as transferring pics, also not being able to assign ring tones and msg tones easily, if at all is annoying, and it jams up quite often aswell,
for this reason I'm going to look at an HTC

iPhone all the way. BlackBerrys are way over rated and have gone from professional business phones to the phone for most teenagers because they get "free" bbm which they have to pay £5 a month for and then get unlimited texts on contract.
HTC are decent but what I hate about them is the fact they spend the least of all major mobile manufacturers on R&D yet bring out the most phones. All they do is make a minor change to the specs and call it a new phone. Like they have announced the facebook phone but instead of just doing one they are releasing two right from the start the HTC Salsa and HTC ChaCha.
And NEVER buy a Sony Ericsson, the build quality is terrible and they never last. My sister went through 4 of the X10 Mini's in 2 months before giving up and getting a different phone after they all broke and had to be replaced.

I got HTC Desire HD - Only £25 a month thats what made me get it instead of paying for the iPhone 4
Is a good phone, Screen is huge :) batt is a bit poor tho if your running the net/wifi on it all the time.
And i dont like the fact you have to jailbreak the iphone to change background and ringtone :/

in 2011 there are lots of new upgraded mobile phones (http://www.prepaymania.co.uk) going to be released, And most probably are Android latest version 2.3 and 3.0 the other good news is they all have solid strong and upgraded processor. I guess some are Motorola Atrix, Samsung Galaxy S2, Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, Motorola Xoom, Blackberry playbook, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo etc...
My personal choice is Samsung Galaxy S2 a marvelous phone.

Had a Blackbery Bold 9780 .... Switched to an iPhone then went back the the Blackberry.
I heard the iPhone 5 is out soon (2 months) not sure if its a rumour but I would most probably wait for that and see what its like
