View Full Version : Saxo well built?

Surprised me when I seen this but the Saxo has only had 6 recalls in its life, mostly for minor things. People may go see just proves it's French rubbish. But no the Audi A4 has 9 for things such as brake pedals falling off and throttle sticking open. Seat Leon has 13 recalls for some quite big issues including flywheel failing. BMW 3 series has 19. The WV Golf has some 23 for some quite significant problems. Honda Civic has some 23 as well. Fiat Punto has 35.

There isn't much on a Saxo to break. It's a pretty basic car.

Too much complicated crap to go wrong on new cars. Never had a single problem with either m Saxo or old Ax whereas my 60 plate Ibiza Cupra's already had a new ECU after the original shat itself after 1k miles on the clock (Thank fook for warranty though)

As Pieface said, they're too basic to go too wrong really.

A torx screwdriver, 10mm socket and a 13mm socket and you can dismantle the whole car. :S

I haven't found mine bad at all.. Apart from servicing, general wear and fuel I haven't had to spend any more money on the little fella. Everything seems to be holding together.. *Touch wood* I not sure it's really French... =/

And Steve, do you actually take a drink after every single post you do? I just imagine you handing out advice then cracking open a new celebratory can lol.

Stop trying to defend them :P

In all fairness newer car's are just too complicated. Lot's more to go wrong on them. And it isn't just french, it's german and jap motor's too. They're just as bad as each other for it.

Tell you what is shocking though, we noticed the other day my dad's colleague's 05 plate Mazda 4(?.. saloon) is rotting on the rear arches already lol.

I had that HAHA. Same side too. Weirdly the drivers side was immacualte. :S It got cut out fillered/mesh etc in. (fook welding, too costly) Was a right mess. :homme: Basically the whole of the rear car was falling apart.
