i think its better than nothing. that and they kind of motivate you as it keeps track of your progress. never going to work miracles though

A friend of mine has lost 10 stone by watching what she was eating and up to 3 hours of Wii fit a day for about a year. Clearly works

fair play to her :y:
Still think a good old run outside the house and healthy eating is an easier option though...

Would rather have the console, less stress on the joints and muscles in the knees plus running is one boring thing, the console games have boxing, etc on them aswell

My girlfriend Helen combines an 8 mile run with yoga on Wii fit afterwards 3 times a week. Since adding the Wii fit she's actually noticed a decent improvement.

wow 10 stones impressive!
im quite tempted to go for something like the wii fit for loosing some baby weight after but its not convienient for me to just leave the house and baby and go to the gym or for a run. if it helps a little bit it would be good! i guess you have to use it for quite long periods of time to notice a difference though

lol ill have to dig out some motivation for that then
then its the question of which console/game do you go for :panic:
weve got a ps3 and xbox
but the wii and wii fits the same price basically as the kinect but you get a whole console
hmmm

Wii fit seems pretty good.
Kintect is good fun but bear in mind you need a decent sized room to play it in

The best bet i would say is take your new arrival out on long walks. The baby will get loads of fresh air and you can work up a sweat.
its bloody hard work pushing a pram after a while

Its not as good as doing the gym properly, but much better than sitting on your arse watching jeramy kyle..
Id like to know how you plan to fit fitness in the day though with a new born ;)

its not the running or the wii mate, its the few hours she spends with me each week.

Wii one works if im honest, started doing it for a hour a day, and noticed a difference.. But then I stopped as im lazy!
Got me sweating so must work! And running 1's I managed to get to 5 Mile one easy, after struggling with 1 mile when 1st started..

Theres plenty of phys you can do to lose weight at home...
Skipping is probably the best
press ups and sit ups
burpees etc.

Get the wii and crack it tbh, not like you're gonna use it online if you've got a PS3/Xbox, then you get free games ;). Although obvs you'll have to pay for the balance board.
By free I of course mean back up copies of the games you already own mods :afro:.

if im honest, i like being able to see in actual figures my improvement/calories burnt etc and it tracking it for me. more motivation than just doing sit ups everyday which is why i quite like the concept of the consoles.

i think the connect has huge potential for this as it uses the whole body, none of this wii crap where its only your hand

The Wii is worth it if you want to do active games!
If you do get one go for the Michael Jackson just dance game! Really tires you out off just one song!

you are supposed to do this for the wii aswell the only difference is you can cheat on the wii and just use your wrist (e.g the running shake the remote up and down and your guy will run like he has a rocket up his ass)
but if you choose to cheat thats not a console problem
id say go with the xbox/ps3 versions as the wii controller isnt very good imo and would be a waste just to buy a whole console for the wii fit

this chap knows the score once you get used to some of these through in some bastards and different situps you'll be hanging out but will very shortly return back to normal. but defo a wii over the kinetik much more fun and it does seam to work

Had a little chat yesterday with a young lady, she was highly recommending that new dance 2 on Wii. Apparently some mates of hers are using it to lose weight and get back in shape.
