Robbing gits. Basically they told me my account was £77 in credit and because their online log in thing is shite I couldn't access the billing as a secondary user. They told me as I was my £77 in credit my next bill would be £45.83 and as I use a seperate bank account for this I put £50 in.

The next day I look in my account and Sky have taken £115 from my account obviously taking me overdrawn and I don't have an over draft (I'm now being charged £120) so I ring sky up explaining it all to them and they say to write a complaint on their e-mail thing. This I do and receive an e-mail acknowledgement from them. This was on 1st Feb.

I then spoke to them on 9th Feb thinking It was only a week for them to respond and as it was 2 days after a week I ring them again. The chap explained to me I would hear back no later than the 14th.

I rang them this morning as I still haven't received any reply from them and the lady who I spoke to said they have no record of any e-mail ever being sent to them. I ended up speaking with a supervisor who told me to write an e-mail of complaint again.

Has anyone else had a bad experience with these robbing gits at all?

Rant Over!!

not just sky mate, most companies don't give a shit :(.

had a similar experience when i was cancelling internet/phone for the house move i made a few months back, said i'd paid up all well and good, then i got warnings that i was being taken to court for unpaid bills, got them to email the amount outstanding then paid it.

another occasion i cancelled internet with o2, but they expected ME to call on the day i switched over to my new provider to remind THEM that i was switching isp's and to cancel my direct debit as i was leaving, just beggers belief how crap customer services are nowadays.

The woman seemed to think at first it was perfectly acceptable that 10 days past the deadline they still hadn't contacted me. It was only when I said that if i was 10 days late with a deadline for my work i'd get the sack she finally agreed partially with me.

My Sky is great...

Was a ballache to get it setup right though, thier customer service is useless and I had to make a complaint

Was 6 weeks without broadband before they told me that my exchange was at capacity and they couldnt offer me it. Would I like to wait until the capacity drops!!!

How about NO! I would not like to wait an undetermined amount of time until one of your other customers realise you are shit and decide to leave, freeing up capacity in the exchange!!

TV from Sky is FTW
Broadband is shite

To be honest, once it's all working, its probably fine.
My issues were maninly with thier customer service, or lack of
Plus the have limits etc which wouldnt work for me anyway because I download quite a bit

Went with BeThere, works great :)
11mb with no limits for £17 a month

Don't get too excited, my Sky Broadband (sold as "up to" 20mbps) is slower than the internet available to soldiers in a forward operating base in afghanistan, 8000ft up in the mountains (i know this as my mate is currently deployed at one). I average 2mbps before 6pm when it drops off as the network gets busier. Have given up complaining to sky as you don't get anywhere.

i dont think it'll be very good either, but the bf thinks its worth it having it all in one package. just gunna see how it goes then cancel it if its THAT bad.
i think i might get him to ring and check how much longer they'll take lol
im getting impatient now

standard attitude tbh, think it works on the principle they piss you off enough you don't call back, doesn't seem to bother them that you'll go elsewhere :mental:

I was told from someone who worked there, If you dont have the repair service with sky, they use the tel- line connection to fuck you box up or cause you an error. Costing you dough.

Theres no way thats true

Even if it was, just unplug your box from the phone line and you wont need to worry

Mines been plugged into a non working phone socket since day 1 (6 months ago) and they have never even contacted me

Yeah I cant do Sky active or view my bill etc but I dont do that anyway
Everything else works fine

Broadband providers are just wankers in general in my experience.

Finally got my broadband enabled yesterday, moved in here 1 month ago today. There's no way it takes a month to press a button to enable a service!
Also ended up having to spend £65 on PAYG 3G bandwidth in that time because I need a net connection for work.

don't have sky anymore as their customer service is terrible. took weeks for them to listen that we needed an engineer. took more weeks to get one out. by this time i had sorted the problem out. rung up saying we do not need an engineer anymore. they still sent an engineer out that was very ride and abrupt. complained and got nowhere as they engineer said we were being violent and abusive. bollocks

not had a problem with sky personally. the only thing is they wanted to charge us about £80 when we moved, for the privalige of moving our dish. stepdad put it up himself and it worked fine for 7 (maybe more!) years, when the 9/10 year old sky box gave up. mum rang up to cancel as she didn't really want it, they upgraded us to sky+ hd and the hd channels, yes it was an extra tenner a month but the guy came out, stuck the box in and basically moved the dish a centimetre over when he was changing the LNB. perfect since. and we've NEVER had the phone line plugged in lol. and thanks to that, we actually use the tv now as the old sky box was causing all the problems (drop out, shit signal, freezing)

and the router gets sent out when they switch it on, so another 2 weeks for internet :(
