2 10mm bolts for the lock the other things that rattle are the high level brake light number plate and plastic trim that covers the wiper motor.

i think it means high level brake light, number plate and the plastic trim that could make the noise.

This is annoying me aswell !
Tightened the plastic trip covering the wiper motor, and that hasn't helped at all !
:wall:
Anyone got any other ideas what it could be apart from the above?

I've had 3 causes of bootlid noises. 1st was brake light plastic cathcing window - resolve by wedging something inbetween. 2nd was rubber seals squeaking against boot lid - resolved by greasing seals. 3rd (and most annoying of the lot) was the plastic which covers the wiper moter rubbing and hitting against rear window - resolved by wedging some foam tape inbetween. Hope this helps.
EDIT: I think the 3rd is the most likely cause.

Exatli same here used a pair of plyers to twist the catch round and one whole face was worn down I.e giving room for movement. Had my head fried for a year

it will most likely be the be the catch pal..no need for a new one..just undo the 2 bolts that hold the catch and move it up or down then retighten it..close the boot and test drive should be spot on :y:
