Just wondering, because i've recently been looking at how much 1 years no claims bonus will effect me when i get it.

Currently paying: £2700 on a 1.0
when i get 1 years ncb i got a quote of £1280 on a vtr which i would love ;D

So basically.. how much did your 1 years ncb effect you when you got it?

If your paying £2700 on a 1 litre (insurance group 1 or 2) then your overpaying and you should have seriously considered that before paying it. I know it's difficult, but there will be companies that will insure you for less. Who was the VTR quote with? The same company you are with now, or someone else?

Most insures operate No Claims Discount on (or similar to) the following scale:

1 Year claim free : 30%
2 Years claim free : 40%
3 Years claim free : 50%
4+ Years claim free : 60%
(Extra years, insurer dependant)

From what you have said, the £1420 difference is more than 50% - and that is on a group 15 car (13 or 14 higher). If that is the case then fair enough, im pleased for you but something doesn't seem right to me.

if its a 1.0 spree think insurance group is either 3 or 4 and the vtr is in 7 not 14 its the vts that is around 14 mate

Im talking about the new insurance groups (1-50)... the old 1-20 system has now finished.

go on compare sights and make yourself a year older with a year more driving experience

my first year insurance was 1700 if i remember correctly on a vtr as a named driver
1 year ncb was about 1400 (on my own)
2 year ncb was about 800

I get my no claims in two weeks, VTR at the minute 1700, with the 1 year no claims 1600 on a VTS. Needless to say I'm now heading to the classifieds :)

Usually between 25% and 35% depending on the insurer

Thats what i thought myself mate, i was really reluctant to pay it, but after 2-3 weeks asking around i couldn't get it any cheaper :(

Both quotes are with Admiral :)
I honestly dont understand the basis that insurance companies get their quotes from! But thats for your info man :y:

Well when i first got my 1.4 corsa sport, it was 1400 with 0 no claims

Then went straight onto my VTS it was then 1200 with 1 years no claims

And now with same VTS with 2 years no claims, its 798 with all mods declared :)

So mines dropped a considerable amount when i got my 2nd no claims :y:

Hoping mine will go down at the end of my first year which is in November. :(
I'm 18 and currently paying £1200, so I'm hoping that may go down.
