So my vtr has started making this noise, again

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ukexg142Q6k

Was told it was the intermediate bearing on the driveshaft, so I changed the whole driveshaft around 6-7k miles ago.

Now the noise has started again. It only does it when on no throttle at all or next to little throttle when in gear. Out of gear it does it at any revs. It really sounds like its coming from the gearbox area.

Thanks for any help!

Bump up! Told my dad and he said it could be the clutch thrust bearing. Sound right to anyone else?

cheers

Gearbox area then it will be the clutch release bearing.. Before i changed my clutch it was making a constant squeal noise and after changing the clutch that disapeared.. My old bearing was knackered

But pop into a garage and see what they say or get a mechanic to have a look

Yeah thats the same with mine. Out in it last night, never made a noise.

Yeah thats what my dad said like. I guess its worth changing the clutch as well as the bearing at the same time then?

I've got the same Problem on my VTS

Only happens when the cars moving above 20mph, and happens when my foot is off the accelerator. It also keeps happening if the car is out of gear, foot pressed right down on the clutch, and even if the engine is off (tried it down a straight empty piece of motorway)

Should I be checking the driveshaft first??

Yeah i would think thats the driveshaft intermedite bearing. Does it make the noise all the time above 20mph?

Only time its guarenteed not to make the noise is when i'm accelerating. If my foots off the gas and the car is slowing down in gear or out of it, the noise starts to appear.

Mines been doing this for a while. Pretty sure its the clutch bearing as it only does it when not in gear and the clutch pedal is fully up, even pressing it in slightly stops it.

Noise is sometimes still there in gear when its cold, but after a little drive soon goes away.

should be the driveshaft i have the same issue and just got it out of the garage, they said both my driveshafts have gone.

it makes the noise on barely any accel and no accel, once the noise came i then tried it in gear, engine braking, nuetral, dipped clutch and engine off ;) yes off ha i turned it off on the motorway at night (full test then im satisfied what they said its the driveshaft)

replacing both next monday, ill post back the results.

also extra noises are rattling when turning, mainly that annoyingly loud grinding/rubbing O.o does it to me only at 35+ ish then constntly for the journey in most gears / none as stated above.

YouTube - Anybody know whats this sound coming from my VTR?

Exactly the same!

Turned out to be the Driveshafts/Wheel Bearing.
