un-usual for this forum due to it being for saxos i know! but currently i have a ep3 type r (£850 full comp fo me to insure at 21)

would you take the plunge at 22 for a M3? i havent modded my current ep3 either...

would you say it's do-able for less than £1200 to insure at 22 or not?

I'd keep the EP3 for a few more years,
You're not going to see a massive drop in prices unless you retain your NCB's when you hit 25.

£850 fully comp is very good on a EP3 at 21, I'm 22 and that's about the same quotes I get on them.

No harm in getting a quote at least.

Bare in mind though it is insurance group 44/50, so do prepare yourself for a raping.

yeah, i know 850 is good on a ep3... just always wanted a e46 m3 for some silly reason... i got a quote of £1600 ish on one at 21 but wasnt prepared to pay double the insurance on a ep3 so i didnt get one

however if it drops near the 1k mark i wouldnt hesitate to get one, iv got 3years no claims at the moment coming up to four when i hit 22... clean licensce aswell since 17

aly - why dont you have a EP3? if you got a quote on one of them?

it is do-able for me - hence i advertised the EP3 and sold it... going to wait till may ish to pick up my new M3 though due to exams in may :y:

the mrs thinks im picking up a 318i (only told her it was a bmw and the performance figures of a 318i lol)

looking forwards to the rwd and useable power in the M3 the EP3 is quite a hooligan to drive whereas the M3 i test drove was better

£1300 for an m3 at 21, i doubt it very much especially a e46 version, unless your fronting o

He's 22, could have more no claims extra year driving experience. Its easily doable.

wat? shut your shit up, Insurance groups don't even go to 20 any more, shows how much you know. Policies are generally more expensive now for an adult to have son/daughter on than the other way around. My brother was quoted around £700 on a fiat stilo with my dad as main driver, yet with him as main driver and dad as named driver it was £600ish, which he eventually got down to £460 I think, and the reason they are doing that is to prevent fronting.

plus one dave. extra £1000 on insurance to have me as a named driver. which is about a 130% increase on what i pay

as for the M3, fair play if you can get insured for a decent price at that age, i'm envious of you!
