hard to select

hi there people i need some help just been out and on the way home i went to change down gears and i had to ram it to get it to go into gear. its fine going up the gears now but the problems start when i want to come down the gears. it has also started shaking the car when i go to set off now aswell. can anyone help me.

think i just found out what my problem was, The clutch cable snapped on me when i went to change gear. i rang the aa to come and get me at 06:10 pm they said that someone would be with me at 6:40 pm they finally arrived to get me at 8:00 pm talk about a long time :@
