Advice on picture. Something hanging off

This has been hanging out for quiet some time and never noticed. What if any damage is likely to happen with it not in place.

isn;t that the actual bar from axle? thunk it should be bolted on at the end.
yes it will do damage as it slides out so could slide out into wheels or brakes

I've bolted it back in now. Dose that adjust the height of the car or is it just the ARB.

Just the ARB, you should find cornering 'a bit more stable' now lol
