just had a lowering quote on my car for 40mm, if i get the springs it will cost approx £60 to have the front lowered and about £150 to get the rear done. Is this a good price? i'm going to ring the insurance this week to find out what the increase would be. was also recommended to do the shocks is this necessery for a 40mm drop ona 1 litre mk 1?
thanks in advance

There is a place in Hartley Wintney that will fit your springs and lower it for £120 so £120-£150 for the complete fitting and adjusting torsion bar is what you should be looking at...
You don't need to upgrade the shocks for a 40mm drop... but if you lower the car more than 40mm then it is highly recommended...
Let us know how it goes!

I can get (If I buy the springs my self) my saxo lowered, inc front and rear for £70. :Y:

That seems a lot to me. I paid £80 to get my rear lowered but that's only because a bolt rounded off and he had to pull my rear axle down to lower it. Should have been about £50/60
I paid £30 for my springs and my boyfriend lowered the front for me
If you know someone who can lower the front then just get a garage to do the rear. It will work out cheaper :Y:
