I like the "Euro" look on saxos
What needs to be done to get this look?
List of things? How do you get the wide alloys etc or is that just spacing or certain alloys?
thanks paul

Unless you have a massive wallet and are a cleaning freak i wouldnt bother mate.
Everything needs to be perfect.
Euro wheels that cost more than most peoples cars.
Smooth'd bumpers.
Scraping the arse on the floor.
stretched tyres
Have a look on the progress threads wassy's saxo is on there soon to be a fast car feature it looks the nuts and he is one of the nicest blokes on here will help you out with all he can.

down & out ... low and wide ... the euro look is as bedford said quite hard to acheive because of the prices and its all about having the car looking "smooth" i read on a different forum its ment to look basicly as if it has no mods and it shouldnt have nothing that stands out like spoilers etc but yeh goodluck have a look at some euro saxos and copy them

oem,no silly mods. if anything its taking parts off such as spoiler, fogs, ariel etc. smoothed fogs and very shiney wheels ;)

not only the above needs to be achieved but in most cases you will need to at some point do stuff thats very unique and proberly never done before but still countinue with the smoothed look

IMO euro aint all about low.. correct me if im wrong, its all about stance not to low not to high but sitting on wide wheels??

Agree with this, people just slam it on wide wheels and think, hmm yeah thats euro.. Needs to be sort of aggressively stanced..

ah im glad ive come accross this!
i drive vw's, the home of the euro look, (i also drive my girlfriends saxo)
for the euro look its all about smooth, clean, but standard looking bodywork.
wheel poke achieved with wide wheels (often split rims), spacers, camber shims and stretched tyres
stance with the help of wheels, suspension and arch flaring, rolling etc.
youll never have euro look with lexus lights, angel eyes, spoilers, 5 spoke alloys etc etc
heres a pic of my euro look mk2 golf
http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj317/bridgedubber/money%20pit%20mk2/IMG_9654.jpg
euro look could be expensive due to the wheels alone as wheels such as bbs rm and rs, oz turbo's, tramonts, schmidt's etc etc etc cost a fortune.
id love my girlfriend to fit a set of split rims to her lowered saxo but she hasnt got the money

Ye you need the odd unique touch aswell to doesnt even have to be anything major just small details bring a car together.
down & out ... low and wide ... the euro look is as bedford said quite hard to acheive because of the prices and its all about having the car looking "smooth" i read on a different forum its ment to look basicly as if it has no mods and it shouldnt have nothing that stands out like spoilers etc but yeh goodluck have a look at some euro saxos and copy them
Low and wide- Not as simple as that! Poor advise just to copy other saxo's aswell. It's not about smooth either its cleaned. Smooth implys (sp) smoothing everything out covering everything etc. When thats not the case its about removing lines/items that spoil the overall appearance of the car or detract from a certain for. Or alternativley enhance a certain feature etc. It's hard to get right because it actually takes some planning and a eye for design and detail. Rather than just wacking filler all over the place which alot of people do.

This is kinda where the english scene is going at the moment which is a american influence called "hellaflush", Not poke anymore like the pic below. Althought the overall car styling bar the wheels still looks fresh

Agree with most of this, but some wheels are to big. Anything over 15" is considered "brit" look

Tbh alot of the a more appropriate to vdubs as u cant get camber on the rear of a saxo without a knackered beam. Can't use shims. Arch rolling and flaring is only really any use to the flat arch design aswell. Love the turbo's btw Them and rsl cults are my 2 fave sets of wheels of all time!
yep its different
Actually quite common on mk1/2 golfs
The english scene is kinda about oem+ at the mo as stated however if u look over at the belgium scene theres bodykits everywhere bright garish (sp) paint jobs etc but the quality is there also. We've moved on from ridiculas stretch tyres, wide and poke wheels once it reached a certain stage it just looked ott. In the same way it was who could fit the biggest wheels.
The hellaflush style has also been brought about by influences of drift with tyre stretching camber etc. Hence why people who are trying to stay fresh are going with jdm influences aswell. Then theres "tuck" which most people over look as its probably the hardest style to get looking good. Only one that stick out in my mind is the gold colour punto.
Then u've gotta look at ur overall style/theme and make sure everything works together. I love the little hints of sticker bombing on the right car, but when you see them done wrong it just spoils the appaerance and makes a car look cheap.

And IMO that sort of style is hard to recreate with a saxo :S

its worth doing cos when your car is finally finished it looks sweet, does cost alot and involves alot of work but if its what you wanna do go for it :y: i've recent had some smoothing and abit of spraying done on my lupo, thinking of going euro too :D

to get started, get your car uber clean - ie. sort out any scratches/imperfections, get rid of any stickers on the windows etc, dewiper. then get some decent dished wheels with stretched tyres and slam the car to the deck on coilovers and have the wheels as spaced to get more of a stance. After all that if your wallet allows it, sort out the interior as it will still look all standard and pikey.
if you want to go all out, you may want to consider a respray in a unique colour...

thing is now adays the scene keeps changing all the time, so u can spends £100's on getting ur car to follow the scene then when its complete your style is last year, with me im just modding my car how i want it and if people like it great if they dont i aint gonna lose sleep lol
