I'm sure this has been answered before but i couldnt find it on search  sorry people.

I noticed you can faintly hear vocals etc in the sub, and when i turn the low pass up it gets nice and loud, but the vocals become clearer :(. Is there anyway to stop this, without buyting a crossover or a decent head unit? cheers :D:

Have you got a switch on your amp where you can turn it to mono? When i switch mine to mono at the amp no vocals come out, only low frequency bass...

Have a play around with your amp settings..

yeh best to just fiddle around with your settings with music you listen to the most on. and on the volume your most likely going to have it on at normal driving. may be a good idea for you to sit in the car, and someone who knows what they are doing to fiddle with your amp to how you think it sounds best.

hmm yeah it is a mono amp so it shouldnt really allow vocals to come through atall in my opinion.

Yeah i will get someone to listen to it for me, just annoying me really.

Its got a 'low pass filter', a 'subsonic filter', a 'Level' filter which sets voltage from 0.3 to 8V, and a 'bass boost' which is 0 to 12 db boost. Its then got this wierd little thing which is a three way switch. When u put it to the far left It has BY at the top and the bottom and then you can hear looooads of vocals. The middle slot has LP top and bottom and you can hear some vocals, and the right slot has LP on top and BY below...
and again you can hear some vocals.

The top is labelled 'AMP' and the bottom is labelled 'AUX OUT'. Probably all crap lol, but i'm feeling quite impatient and i wanna get this done :P

If you tell me the model name and details of your amp and headunit are i will have a look at what settings it has for you, and see if i can help out.

The amp is a Blaupunkt GTA 1350 and the head unit is a JVC KD-S741R (which came with the car and isnt too well specced so i will upgrade at some stage anyway...).

Cheers for your help guys

Try switching it to HP (highpass) with the subsonic filter as that will filter the music to only play 20 - 55 Hz which is the very low bass... and shouldn't play the mid range vocals..

If that doesn't work then i think you would have to upgrade the headunit, my alpine headunit lets you adjust it fully there.

Hope that helps

cheers gave it a try but sadly no effect :(. cheers anyway though. Could i ask what alpine unit you have because I want an alpine cus they look so much better than the rest, but i dunno if they are actually worth the money.

i have the Alpine CDA-9855R, i would certainly recommend it but they can be a bit pricey dependent on where you look...

Check www.caraudiodirect.co.uk's special offers

Hope that helps

it takes awhile to get used to but it's not that bad... you don't really need to use it much as you can navigate with other buttons for changing tracks etc.. so you shouldn't need it whilst driving..

It's a quality headunit though, it means i have been able to alter my headunit's settings according to which way my sub faces in my boot, as it comes out at a funny angle, otherwise it just sounds flabby..
