Not a car related site but it's a site a couple of my mates have created for those of you who have Urban Exploration interests.
They have over 1,200 members and is forever increasing.
28 Days Later (http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/)
Another one to check out is...
Derelict Places (http://www.derelictplaces.co.uk/)

So they just go round looking at abandoned (sp.) places and areas?
Bit spooky for my liking...

Well it's more of an urban interest mate. I've been out on a few trips.
There are loads of websites that give you lists of abandoned mental asylums, leisure buildings, towers, etc... I like to have a walk around to see what it looks like and how it used to operate.
One asylum that many people know of is/was West Park in Epsom. They had padded cells, a mortuary, dormitories, etc... Was quite spooky. They have now started demolition on that site which is a shame.

Yeh I can see it being quite interesting, but personally it ain't my cup of tea. There was one matey that said he heard a woman screaming whilst he was taking photo's. Spooky...

Some things (stories) you have to take with a pinch of salt. It depends who it is telling you the story.
The last time I went to an asylum, myself and others got escorted off the premises by on-site security. There are risks but life would be boring without them.

Damo, I've hardly been off that site, lol...
Its well interesting to see how massive buildings like that are just left with all their contents and stuff untill one day they get knocked down...
Saw that you spelt your name out on that letter board at West Park, lol...
Where's the nearest place like that around our area?
DevilDamo

Yep... put my name on that board damn right mate. Haha! That building/asylum (West Park) is being demolished as we speak. It's a shame because it was quite close (Epsom, Surrey).
Another nearish one is Cane Hill which is in Coulsdon (near Croydon), Surrey. But I wouldn't attempt to gain access on your own nor if it's your first time. That's the one me and mates were escorted from. They also have indications of asbestos but in some cases, that's normally used as a deterent.
There are many websites that list these abandoned asylums in different counties. One that's off the top of my head is...
Abandoned Britain (http://www.abandoned-britain.com/)

cool, there is a place about 2 minutes walk from my house called brookwood hospital that was used during the war for the mentally ill, me and my mates used to go in there when they stopped using it but the have since converted them in to flats. you allway used to hear strange things in the or you would think there was someone standing down the hallway looking at you, it really was quite scary at times.

theres a mental hospital near me called cheadle royal, its huge inside and loads of people goto it :S
the weird thing is that they built the new one in front of it and left the old wrecked buildin there must be listed or something.
theres a room there with the name BOB written hundreds of times all over the walls in blood lol
and another room with a noose made from tin red rope
its well dodgy in the day and fuck going at night time :S

When I first saw the picture of the mortuary I thought it was some sort of food trays, lol...On the site is there a pic of your crouched down by a door, lol...
Did you not see/hear any spooky goings on when you went there?

You hear the odd thing... e.g. water dripping. But like with any of these places, you just get on with it. People get worried because they "want" to hear or make themselves believe something is there when it's not.
One time we were there, another group of "explorers" decided to pay a trip to the asylum. We saw them coming in and there were around 10 of them. Making quite a bit of noise too. We thought it'd be amusing to run up behind them, etc... yes. They did shit themselves. But it was still funny. Some mates of mine camp at these places overnight. If they come across any other explorers, the campers usually run down tunnels shouting and screaming which then scares off the new explorer arrivals.
